  • I've got audio recordings of Top of the Pops that were wiped by the BBC on my channel, including the first year of wiping - 1964 and the last year of wiping - 1977 !!!!

  • @ingravegreen Thanks for your reply and info! The TOTP sixties theme music is not remembered too well by most people, possibly because the BBC deleted most of their recordings. Consequently, as very little footage survives, there is not much material to rebroadcast.

  • @ingravegreen I remember this theme music well, I am a couple of years younger than yourself. Unfortunately, I don't know the title of the music. The best remembered theme music from Top Of The Pops is Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love, which was used throughout the seventies.

  • That theme is the bomb. What is it? Anyone know?

  • The Beatles produced many fine acts on their Apple label I'd love to see Top of The Pops footage of the Radha Krishna Temple singing the Hare Krishna mantra , produced by George . How could I get access to Top of The Pops footage from 1969 of the Apple label Radha Krishna Temple band ? The Radha Kriishna Temple made four appearances on the Top of The Pops. Any suggestions please ? How did you find this footage ?

  • @Gauraonline I remember the Radha Krishna Temple appearing on TOTP in 1969, the Hare Krishna Mantra reaching no12 in the singles chart. The BBC wiped most sixties recordings of TOTP, only four remain intact in the BBC archives. From 1969, only one edition survives, from February that year. Sadly, it looks very likely that all Radha Krishna Temple appearances on TOTP no longer exist. The video I uploaded was from a sixties night on BBC4.

  • 5 bob! Those were the days!

  • @Feisty1967

Just imagine what would have happened to Jimmy Savile if there had been £5 in it.

  • You recorded a lot of stuff off BBC Four, I must have missed these programmes when they first cam out. This is a real gem!
