..I have to say it and ...please Ry .....do not get upset.....this version is way .....more intriguing..than the original....I know I'm asking alot...but you think it would be possible to upload a video where you show what both of the hands are doing?.....Regards
@francomanca some people are just lazy use your ears youve got half the work in front of your eyes an its a good cover im not slatting youll never progress just reading tab all the time
@pretty9reenpark4 ...evidently you are the guy who can give advice....seem to be the kind of person having a good solution for each of the world problems....
Great video! Thanks for posting. MAN, I wish I could find a good tab for this song....I've always wanted to play it but I'm a "not-so-skilled" amateur and need tab to practice with over an over.
My goal is to learn to play this one song, can you recommend a good guitar to purchase? Never played before and really want to achieve this goal of mine, great cover! My email is perry.richey@comcast.net would appreciate any help :)
Hey Mr.Blues ! Thanks for posting this up...I have been looking for tabs for years for this one. I 'm always moved by Ry Cooder's atmospheric soundtracks. You have done this justice...I am another one who can't stop playing it now ;-)
@JessieLewis0293 No tabs, all done old school I'm afraid. Tune to open D and watch my finger work. Consign it to memory and you'll have it in no time!
I have been in love with the soundtrack to this film and this piece especially, since the first time I watched it when released, this and Paris, Texas - Takes my breath away. So great to watch you play it and to play it so true to the way Ry Cooder plays it. Fantastic thank you!
@DefinitelyMaybe65 Wow. high praise indeed. I too fell in love with the theme when I first heard it, took me a couple of years to pluck up the courage to actually set about trying to learn it...and I did, old school! Took me months so I'm glad the hard work paid off!
Very nice...I always thought that was an awesome intro to a movie. Thanks for the tuning description, I'm gona try to learn it by watching your vid. Take care
@eeyyron Super, good luck. I had no video to go off, so had to do it old style. Open D (a hair detuned), get really familiar with it so you know every note and accent, then watch my vid, it follows really easily!
You sound like a big Ry Cooder soundtrack fan. There's a lot of good stuff from "Johnny Handsome" & "The Border". One of the best songs from The Border isn't even on the soundtrack, though. It's from the scene where Jack Nicholson goes into the Mexican joint to retrieve a missing girl. John Hiatt sings the vocals & it rocks. I wish I could find it.
@ste123456754 Wow Ste thanks very much for saying that. I always hope one day if Ry was at a loose end he might swing by and check it out. So far Les Copeland has left some very nice messages but Mr Cooder has yet to say Hi....we all live in hope don't we?!
Eh fuck, it's times like tonight , when im feeling really down and it's like the whole goddamn world is out to get me, that I can come on here and listen to some old Ry Cooder riffs especially from someone who can actually play them as well as Trisblues, and I don't feel so bad. They call that style of music the blues, but the blues never made me feel bad, if anything it always makes me feel a lot better. So thank you again Trisblues, your covers always cheer me up
bloody awesome playing and tune there mate. i've just got done watching this movie again, it's extraordinary that certain types of music can really take you to some other part of the world.
Hey, really good playing. I'm trying to learn this myself. I tried watching your fingers, but I think I'll just wait until you can make some tabs. Don't seem like there are any out there to be found online
Thanks a lot I love this music so much !!! It would be really great if you could send me the tab (if you have one) cause I dream about being able to play it. You're very good a pleasure for my ears.
@FreeManu13 Thank you very much, and unfortunately no tab is available; I have yet to sit down and actually work out the tab for it but when I do I will publish it here.
You caught my heart with this song.... And the Harley Davidson on your shirt....I'm only 30 miles from their headquarters....
