@horayforjoe because its been lifted. Its a gasser - this was the style in the 60's for gassers. Straight front axle, jacked up rear to aid weight transfer for hard launches at the drag strip..

Umm, same reason there is water in the burnout box at a drag strip....drag tires hook hard and are not ment to spin! Without water the line lock would probably not hold it. ;)

HERMAN78X knows all I was trying to say, I had a 75 camaro with a 350 I yanked that out and put a 400 SB then it ran ok but not as good as my 76 F150 with a 390 out of a 67 mustang GT well at least in a straight line. The 55 is still nice.
