  • Justin, Selena and Rebecca: Nice try for those 3 dislikes, but you simply can't do it!

  • If you like the message of this song.. I recommend the book 'The Less-Dead'

  • once again, not a problem at all, top comment are basically about the same thing. Go everybody!

  • Breaks my heart when the names come out in the chorus ):

Especially because that list of names can KEEP going on && on...

&& NO this song is not only about people who are gay, bi && in between but also for those who get picked on for their style, looks etc. What a fucked up world this is <|3

  • the definition of love is: a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another PERSON. does it say girl? does it say boy? no. it doesn't. love is love. fuck all of you homophobes. my friend is Bi, and my brother is gay. and i support both of them(: my brother is my hero. my idol. and if he's going to hell because of what gender he likes, then so am i. just cause Hell is going to be the most amazing place ever just cause all the "gays" are going there(x

  • @youhadmeathelloobaby don't hate homophobes. hate the fucking douches that people call homophobes. A true homophobe cannot control his desire to stay away from homosexuals, it's like any other phobia. But the people we call homophobes can. They're not homophobes, they're not afraid of them, they just hate them for it. I have a homophobic friend who is totally for gays getting married, he just can't be around them or he freaks out. He wishes he didn't, but he can't control it.

  • @mcrgerardway923 I'm glad to see that you understand this. There needs to be a new title to give to the ones we call homophobes when they are not really homophobic. It's misleading and causes a bit of trouble for the people who ARE homophobic.

  • please join our group, "the 3rd Option" on facebook, we are an anti bullying and suicide prevention group from clifton new jersey

  • @415PETER alright man... ill see if i find ya... im not in new jersey though im in maryland...

  • Who could dislike a song about bullying? I mean, 3 dislikes? That's just wrong.

  • @HProx1

    Bullies?

  • @HProx1 I like your comment but those dislikes aren't from people who dislike the song because is about bullying, those 3 dislikes are from Justin Selena and Rebecca (i'm sure you know them), and they disliked because they hate real music :)

  • "It's always darkest just before the dawn"...always remember that, people.

  • While I honestly have nothing against gays and am an advocate for gay rights, I have to wonder where it comes from if it is not a choice, for I would imagine that if it was strictly genetically inherited it would have to be quite the rare disorder indeed. Then again, it is a choice by definition, because whether or not you want to be straight, everyone is fully capable of having sex with the opposite gender even if they prefer the same :P

  • @swordsmen3 It's actually on a genetic level. It's not something w/ the reproductive organs, it's part of the DNA scanned by the brain. Homosexuality is by no means a genetic disorder, but the theory is that it's the result of the recessive form of multiple alleles, which would also explain why there are one or more straight siblings and 2 straight parents

  • I wish I could of stopped you.

Said the right thing to make you feel ok again.

Told you you were worth it, because you are.

Hugged you tight to let you know I loved you.

I hope you're happier now, because I know you weren't happy here.

I love you and miss you. </3

  • the three dislikes were proven wrong..

  • I'm still awake because i prove them wrong !

  • I love all the songs rise against puts out, because they aren't in the same slots as all the others, the yal lhave messages, and they all give hope and try to inspire change. That's what music is for. I'm a senior in highschool and i've been picked on for over 11 years for multiple things, the most recent thing they are on me about is being gay, and I listen to this every time I feel depressed.

  • i thought this was some new OFFSPRING the 1st couple times i heard it... good shit

  • I'm not gonna lie, I think homophobics are sick, twisted people. And thats coming from a girl who happens to have a homophobic bitch for a mother. I am thirteen years old, but even I know better than to hate somebody over something as simple as who they're interested in. My mother insists it's in the Bible somewhere that all gay people go straight to hell, but I'm a Christian and she is wrong. So all you bullies out there, stop. One day you might find yourself on the other end of the stick.

  • i'm not gay or lesbian but this song really gave a powerful vibe to me, this song really came to me because kindergarden- 7th grade i was constantly bullied by people but not for being gay or lesbian but for being an easy target to pick on (due to not being able to handle a situation because of my nervous/anxiety disorder) i was bullied not stop for 8 years. this song touched me because now i think of all the others who were bullied, and i dont feel like i was the only one bullied any more

  • @OneChickWolfPack i feel the same way :( and i stil get bullied and im in 10th grade

  • bible degree adverstisment faliure

  • this has to be the best band in its genre

  • "I plan to go on living." Wow. Powerful.

  • Being gay isn't a choice. Hating someone is.

  • I love Rise Against so hard.

  • Love how true this really is... I mean, I dealt with it; I'm bisexual and hid it for years. It's lonely, and coming out is even worse; but this is for more than just gays/lesbians - everywhere there are people who get bullied about something, and those who bully are just as broken as those who they bully. Reach out to others - and remember there is always two sides. To those being bullied; be yourself, find pride in yourself; you are not better, but nor are they; they are human just like you.

  • dont be gay then

  • @bigxdirty22 Really? Contrary to popular belief, being gay is not a choice. Just like being straight is not a choice.

  • @Raechel97 its funny because in a few years with this messed up economy the only thing people are going to care about will be their own well being food and money.

  • @bigxdirty22 i could probably guess this was to me..

an i believe its not a choice

    but even if it was

its my choice to make no one elses

  • @bigxdirty22 wtf. People dont choose to be gay. Do people choose to be straight?

  • @Ashtheorphan2817 True dat. Why would someone CHOOSE to have to go through hell and back every day?

  • @bigxdirty22 Uh...really? That's like saying "don't be African-American then" or "Don't be female then". Not things epopel can really do a whole lot about. Don't be gay? Don't be straight. People are who they are, and most of them aren't willing to change.

  • R.I.P :( i never got to know you, but i saw u the day before. if only i knew who you were or what ur name was i wouldve been there. people are fucktards -.-

  • 3 bullies....

  • 3 people will never understand what real love is.

  • im gay everyone at my school makes fun of me an my friends just cause they hang out with me

    it really hurts :(

  • @Spottedwinglove Don´t let those bastards get to you, you are worth so much more than all of them together

  • @Spottedwinglove don't worry about it hon, i am too and i get it all the time. For me though, it's from my parents, and i'm not allowed to speak to my girlfriend of 8 months because they're prejudiced. It hurts like hell, but sometimes the best thing to do is stand your ground and be proud of who you are. if i ever meet you, i'll give you a hug (or 37).

  • @Spottedwinglove I don't know how you feel, but you deserve to know that you are worth so much more than those who put you down because you're different. I hope you always keep your head held high and never give up on life.

  • "Bang bang go the coffin nails", "From a nation under God", "It's always darkest just before the dawn".

Corny and melodramatic. Did Aaron Lewis write this song?

  • @steeles21 No, it's not 'Corny and melodramatic.' It's a strong message. It says that people take their lives because of other peoples words and actions, all because they are who they are, and that the dark times will pass in order to get to the brightness.

  • Incredibly powerful lyrics to an amazing song. This song speaks the truth of a very sensitive subject that usually never gets resolved because most are afriad or intimidated and wont speak up. dont become another statistic

  • My two best friends were gay, and they committed suicide together because of all the shit they had to go through every day. It's songs like this that help restore my faith in humanity. Thank you, Rise Against.

  • I hate the people that say that teens that commited suicide shouldnt have memorials and shouldnt be rembered since they were "cowards". a good friend of mine commited suicide 2 years ago and he's never forgotten and never will be. people that have never been in the situation dont understand what its like and im glad rise against made a track to keep the memorys alive and get people help instead of just blowing them off

  • My favorite part, is the phrase "it's always darkest, just before the dawn" it's a phrase we've all heard and forget but it's so true. This song is going out to all aspects of life, I have love problems. At my age of only 14 i cling on to a girlfriend and love her to death but most people at my age don't know what love is. And when I lose the person I just don't think i can keep searching for Her. But I remember THAT phrase, and life keeps moving forward.

  • I was bullied all my life for being over wieght, When i started doing mma i thought id never get better because i was so fat, i still am chubby. but i never gave up and never let anybody tell me what i couldnt do. now im a floida state campion in Bjj and i can run a mile. never give up and believe in yourself beause it does get better aslong as you follow your dreams.

  • epic song

  • I get bullied a lot, and I think of suicide a lot. But then I listen to this song, and for some reason it gives me hope about not giving up. That, one day I might be able to change something... The world, might be able to change this.

  • @scarclawwindclan "Be the change you want to see in the world"-Ghandi. Words to live by, my friend.

  • you know the world in becoming sad when the act of being bullied has turned up such a great song.

  • I'm gonna be asking my teachers if i can perform this song for the start-of-the-year kick off show at my school... this song NEEDS to be shown. Guys, please spread the words, we gotta stand up and be proud of who we all are!!!

  • I Remeber Watching This On MTV, I Was Like..Wow. It Makes A Statement. Most Songs, Dont..

  • i love this song most of my friends are gay or leasbeans so i think people should not be juged by sex race color sexuallity it teribly it happens the way it does make a change stand up and say we all diserve to be treated we are all equal but i know how sisiety jugdes

  • I absolutely...LOVE this song. I love it. No doubt about it. Rise Against, you just saved a life, and probably many more. :)

  • This video has a great point of view who cares what ppl think of you everyone one has special qualities and being gay doesn't make u wrong

  • Amazing, powerful song, the video for it just highlights that, it's just so moving!

  • oh my god, this song is so...strong

  • This song makes me think about the lost in war...Physically and Emotionally.... The list of names made me cry a little....

  • from like 3:00 on when he starts like listing all the names i just get chills. this song is just so good. like. amazing.

  • cuz if its ur first ur just as bad as the bully u dont now about the bullyies life i not saying i am for bullying but i have been bullyed thanks to my brains i dont have to realy on violence cuz then i miht let a little to lose and hurt someone

  • hero and do something about it realy on violence as a last result

  • if u guys really hate bullying quit posting shit here and trying to look like a herp

  • People are so fucking bad bullying other people who likes there gender like wow fucking bullying in general pisses me off and when I see bullying I kick the bullies ass(I know thats not the best way to handle it but they stop bullying) and I feel bad if there where anyone around me that was gay and was offended by someone calling me gay and joking around

  • damn i feel like an idiot almost everday i use being homo sexual an insult w/o realizing wat im sayin, from now on ima watch wat i say, and if i ever saw a gay guy get builled id fucking wreck the kid bullying him, i support gay people be who u wana be from john a straight 15 year old, sad to see that this is how gay people r treated -_-

  • thank you so much

  • @CMyEmote Well, you know now. And thats the important part.

  • gay

  • This should be the gay anthem. I'm not trying to be a jackass either like "OH THIS SONG SUCKS IT SHOULD BE THE GAY ANTHEM LOLOL". It really should..

  • I can't tell wasn't this song either for the Gay It gets better campain or it was a song for the bullying and the stand to stop it

  • Blah, this song kinda made me feel better.

I'm not gay, don't have anything against ppl who are.

I think it's an amazing song, ppl are different and you gotta accept it. He's gay, she's gay, so what?! They are both just humans accept them for who they are, and don't judge them or treat them different/bad because of that.

  • This song is sad

But it's also freaking awesome :)

  • favourite rise against song

  • Is this song about kids coming suicide? becuz i noticed they named kids names

  • @somebodycares16 Yeah it is about the gay teens how commuted suicide after being treated terribly.

  • @somebodycares16 ummm well its about gay bullying towards both guys and girls which is VERY wrong and it was so bad they commited suicide. people need too just accept other people for who they are if you watch the music video it makes more sense.

  • People can be stupid, should we censor all instances of "homophobic slurs" no, thats too much. I'm less than disapproving of gay "pride" parades, not because theyre gay, but because often times the people involved will be nude, I can't sit well with kids seeing that. But nobody should ever be discriminated against for they're sexual orientation ( or any other belief / preference ). When I hear about suicides from bullying for any reason it disgusts me, it makes us look like total idiots. Most o

  • This is truly amazing. Speechless actually.

  • Make it stop, let this end. Just stop people, they're interested in different things, nobodies perfect and damn you if you say you are perfect. They're here and they don't deserve to be reconciled because of them liking the same gender. Shame on you if you are to ignorant to see that. They are free people and can do what they want, harassing them isn't going to do anything but for them to die. They're human beings just like you and me.

  • I always I think of all the times i've had to stand up for some of my friends, because of how people treated them. I agree when they say let this end. The lyrics in this song make me cry almost everytime i listen to them. They make so much sense and the point that rise against is trying to give off is very important. I believe that those who are homosexual should be able to show who they are, and be proud of it. Bullying because of who they chose to kiss is wrong. please everyone, MAKE IT STOP.

  • This song is amazing, very powerful lyrics. I'm glad that something has been done to memorialize those teens who committed suicide after the bullying from who they chose to kiss. Rise Against you are awesome.

  • This song is just amazing... it means so much... if only those who lost their lives were able to hear what they've created... this song will likely save lives... as all of rise against does <3

  • I love this song! I first heard it with my girlfriend :) amazing lyrics and rhythm.

  • i love this song, some parts can just relate to more than the suicide which was terrible

  • Esta canción es la leche!!!

  • this song is amazing

  • this song is form the teen suicides from sept of 2010

  • @macp222 Not just teen suicides from Sept 2010, but from GAY suicides from sept 2010

  • @MaxLynn2011 there suicides none the less it doesnt matter if there gay suicides or not it doesnt make it any different

  • @MMMHOTCHEEZE Um. . I kinda think it does matter, because Rise Against is trying to make a point on the fact that there are so many suicides due to gay bulling and harrasment, so it does make a pretty BIG difference. . . .

  • @MaxLynn2011 what about racial bullying?

  • @altnation10101 What do you mean?

Racial bullying is bad, but this song is about Gay Suicides. . . because all the names in the end all killed them selves because of gay bullying . .. .

  • @MMMHOTCHEEZE Yes it is different, the reason they are dead is the difference, obviously you are too ignorant to see that.

  • @MMMHOTCHEEZE It does matter. If a average suicide happens, than there will be people mourning. If it was a gay person some would be mourning, some would be "Ha! There loss." or "Yeah! Another queer down! Let's keep on going!", more suicides that've been reported are gay suicides.

Anyone else see the dif between the two?

  • @WolfQuestfan2468 what im trying to say is that there all suicides they all did it because they did not feel loved or were bullied constantly or just because there done with life IMO its all the same. No one should laugh or joke about somebody commiting suicide and everyone should mourn not just family members and friends. Its just my opinion.

  • @MMMHOTCHEEZE This song is specifically about teens committing suicide due to being bullied for being gay because it's a rising issue right now. It seems like every time we turn on the news, another young homosexual individual was pushed to the edge. It doesn't mean that other deaths and suicides aren't as important, cause they are, but this song in particular is about gay suicides. They are different from other suicides. Much different.

  • @macp222 I thought this was about Columbine

  • this song is so intense
