While kiss have written some great rock and love ballads, their attempt to explore the darker side has not always worked. I dont know what they were thinking with Psycho circus and Carnival of Souls. But songs as Betrayed and unholy are definetly up their with their great hits.

I think that "Crazy Nights" is a great album. I love Paul a lot more than Gene, especially in the non-makeup years. I think Gene's voice didn't exactly fit for "Lick It Up" and "Animalize". The fact that Paul sings 7 of the 11 songs on "Crazy Nights" is a huge plus for me. I think Gene fits better in a more rock 'n' roll setting for the most part. Paul seems to be able to do pretty much any style of singing and sound great.

@mustaine8080 Crazy Nights is Kiss at their best! The album has everything you want.Crazy leads,ballads,anthem tunes,heavy rock,radio rock,great vocals.Hell Yeah! I grew up with original Kiss but I must say CN,s is 1 of my favorites

My favorite Gene song off this album. Or Cadillac Dreams. I was so happy that Kiss started to go back to their roots on this album. Crazy Nights was such a disappointment to many fans and to the band as well!!

This is the only KISS tape that I own. I got it at age 13 back in April of 90, and played drums along to it all the time. Boomerang was the toughest because of the double bass.

I saw the Hot in the Shade tour in July 1990 at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, SC. Danger Danger and Slaughter opened. Sadly, they didn't let them shoot any pyro on this show. I heard it happened in Little Rock, AR, also. Did it happen anywhere else on this tour? Or were officials in Columbia that backwards?
