Have you ever seen film of a Mk3 Cortina race? Think it was '71. Same sorrt of thing, F1 drivers etc all in matching cars. Would love to see it

I was there. It was The Fordsport Day. Jackie Stewart drove his F1 Tyrell around the Indy Circuit and broke the lap record. Ken Tyrell voiced his concern as that car was destined for the Monaco GP just a week later.

I wish I had been ! I got the information from the wonderful book 'Last of the gentleman racers' about Piers Courage.

Wonderful! This was May 24th 1970. There was a draw for grid positions, and Graham Hill stalled on the front row. Piers Courage won, beating rally ace Vic Elford by inches. Within a month, Piers was dead.
