I watched all of your 63 impala videos from start to #65....this evening. It was addicting! I have some old Advance Design trucks just waiting for this type work (that's how i stumbled on your video - your old tow truck). You are an inspiration to me. I even called my wife in to watch a few with me. Kinda like the Roy Rogers of old car restoration. Keep up the good work, Sir.
I'm so glad you're making videos again featuring the '63. My dad owned a '63 Biscayne and it's the first car I can remember. Keep us updated on the Impala and thanks for sharing!
I was shown to use a break drum.Turn the drum around and put the lugs on. ..Have the lugs on an few threads and use the drum as a slide hammer this works.let me know what you think.
i use to turn the wheel insideout loosely put the"bolts" back on so the wheel can trwel over the threads and use the waight of the wheel as a hammer on the studs its fast and dirty with no faults yet.
Great vid very helpful if I come across that problem with my 63' an the axel removeable should be helpful come spring when I plan on putting h.d.axels in..
restodan is BACK! congrats man, I messaged you once about advice on a 1961, but I ended up getting a 1964 4 door with an IMMACULATE interior, but do you have any advice about where I could buy chrome trim that is missing for cheap?
My '64 used to do the same. I was running way too much power I think, it would eat the bushings on that bar and the bar on top, I got to be a pro at replacing those in no time flat. Also it would cause the u-joint to slap on the inside of the x-frame under hard acceleration, whenever I'd start hearing that u-joint noise I knew it was time, I'd say it was about every 6 months, not a real big deal to me honestly, the bushings were cheap, and I always had spares.
Looking @ the lower quarter , White is areal nice color on the 63 . thats crazy how the rear end caused the car to wonder . i would have never guessed that . Ray in PA

I have my own method for axle removal.Take a junk brake drum and bolt it to the axle flange backwards.Use a hammer and tap the axle out ..;

This fixed it. I had to remove this bolt, clean it up, then i was able to tighten it up tight.

Wow....that's just one of those things you have to dig and scratch your head on and finally....bingo!
Great find....aka as a "Panhard Rod". Great to see a new post!
from wiki:
"Originally invented by the Panhard automobile company of France in the early twentieth century, this device has been widely used ever since."

@helperout If you live in Texas you don't want a dark coloured car if it doesn't have air-con, trust me.
