Not well. They can be quite mean, even around humans.  I had a juvenile one bite me and I almost lost my finger. I always wear thick gloves when handling my adults.

i got a cracking bosc and the best thing is that he hates MEN!!!!! i can do loads with him and he is as quiet as a mouse untill my hubby comes home from work . I lurv tonka as he is adorable he does stand offs with my cat and just loves my dog . he is 4 1/2 foot long lives in a 7 1/2 foot viv but loves running around the house and nipping my ankles if he wants feeding ....... just thought i would let you know

A bite from ANY animal, including a human, can give you a bad infection. Any mouth is a dirty place, and carries bacteria that is released into your blood stream from the bite. So yeah, any bite will cause infection.

I plan on getting a savannah monitor but to tell you the truth i grew up with dogs that dog is still unsure on your pet zues but that is awsome how they are so calm around one another like most animals if rasied around another it will feal as if it is no diffrent then the other but vary cool and odd at the same time. :)

I just got a young monitor, "baby" at 15cm.

He seemed very frightened and agressive against me, not so strange as he just got home to a new place.

But I just wondered if you have any advice for me how to tame him?

I'm gonna leave him alone tomorrow to give him time to adapt to his new home and so on.

Perhaps give him food the day ofter tomorrow, from my hand.

What do you think?

@SgtMeyner try to handle him everyday that is my suggestion. maybe put him in a bath (empty with no water) and have him/her crawl on you. there are numerous ways to tame reptiles
