@TheHumanTank13 The road is from the Busch company. They make lots of model railroad accessories. Their roads are great & easy to work with...but not cheap. Thanks for watching!
I've always used homasite for building layouts, my dad built me a layout back in the seventies and he put homasite down over 2 x 2 beams. When I asked why he showed me. He took a piece of plywood and a section of track, and nailed it down with a finishing hammer. Then he took a piece of track and put it on a scrap of homasite, and pushed the nail through with a pair of pliers. Then used to tip to flush the nail down. It also is gray so it does not need pre-painting.
@jesterd14 You're right about Homasote. I've lots of friends who use it--and you can't beat it for easily pushing track-spikes into it. However, based on my requirements & location--13" off the floor, in Billy the hamster's room, where each evening he runs freely (supervised!) and we don't want him chewing on anything that comes loose underneath--plywood is a more practical choice for me. Most of all, thanks so much for watching my video and commenting!
@UPRRfan While, unfortunately, you'll have to wait 'til the next Update to see the actual track being put in place, there's a track plan diagram in Update #1. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
I really like in the begging of the video where you have the two n scale people talking! Great Idea using jars for legs! Nice video, cant wait till the next.
@1991conrail I never imagined eating all those pretzels would pay off the way it did. And for my purposes, pretzel jars have been perfect. Thanks so much for your kind words--and I'll relay your compliment to the n scale people in the parking lot. :-)
@spazman13579 As the excellent model railroader that you are, I appreciate your kind words. I'm pleased with the way my N scale layout has turned out so far. Thanks for stopping by and for your support.
