  • Am I the only one who remembers 'warblogger' Matt was one of the biggest Iraq war enthusiasts in the blogosphere?

  • Ann's a racist against middle eastern people. She may not know it but she obviously is. I would love to see her debate with Jesse Ventura or Ron Paul.

  • Give Ann the Nobel peace prize already.

  • Omg Hitler had a sex change

  • Every time I hear Ann Coulter--which, admittedly, is as seldom as possible--I suffer from outrage fatigue of Bill O'Reilly proportions. "Waterboarding---ok, torture would be better TEE HEE!!!" Really?!?

  • Waterboard Ann Coulter!

  • Well kids, If you verbally spew conservative bullshit you can become famous!

  • @boxxybrownn If you verbally spew liberal horseshit you become ... nothing! Even in the "shit" department you all mutherfuckers lose!

  • How did Coulter ever become popular?

  • ann coulter proof that god doesn't exist

  • Ann meant to say Stanford, not "Yale," and it wasn't Stanley Milgram (that was shock treatment not the famous prisoner experiment that college freshman learns about), it was Zimbardo. And, btw, she says "and we know from those experiments" as if it's not the most infamous, controversial psych. study ever done. I only point this out bc, this is the type of thing that, had a liberal botched such facts, Ann would have devoted a column towards it.

  • Conservatives always claim government to be the bad guy and any overreaching of it is horrible: Unless, of course, you are a gay couple having consensual relations in your own house, then it's okay for government to intervene. Coulter can be funny, but her hypocrisy on some issues is mind-blowing. The premise of ALL of her books is that media in the US loves liberals and hates conservatives; which is why she has appeared on every tv station like a 1000 times. I could go on, and on.

  • I like how some Republicans like Coulter view government as the problem to everything but they can't get enough government when it comes to civil liberties or foreign policy.

  • Natural resourses should not be a reason to go to war... If someone else has something that we want and need... we should half to pay for it.. Not take it.

  • Ann Coulter is the biggest cunt.

  • Iraq has been a fantastic country...meaning they died in their own streets and homes without making much of a fuss. 100,000 civilians by the most conservative estimates...gtfo coulter.

  • Ann Coulter is the anti-feminist and anti-egalitarian.

  • Coulter is such a cunt, why anyone gives this woman any time on the air, I have no idea. All she does, ever, is just play the super republican role, and stir shit up for ratings. Again, cunt.

  • @bweazel honestly, why is she on air. Look at all the guests that are w/ her, then look at her. Its crazy

  • @bweazel Man I can't believe people buy her books!!!

  • You know she's a great fuck. That's what I hate about the right wingers. They have all the hot, dumb chicks and we get Rachel Madow and Amy Goodman. Oye.

  • Three scum-bags.

Both Welch and Stossel think invading Afghanistan was right, without giving reason a valid reason.

And no mention by Welch of any moral objections against Iraq's invasion or Coulter's crazed supportive arguments.

It's important to remember that there are different types of libertarians. Welch and Stossel belong to the "amoral asshole" branch.

  • @Jarreason The value security more than liberty, bunch of pussies...

  • Stossel please dont invite that rat to your show...

  • @Obamination2001 Your screen name says it all.

  • @Jacobus323 Your buffoonish response tells me that you are just too intellectually handicapped to give any kind of cogent reply.

  • coulter: "torture is great" ... what kind of mental illness would cause someone to say that ??

  • is coulter really that naive, or just simply lying? neo-con "logic" amuses me.

  • @Jarreason I think she is funny, but yeah, she throws away liberties like dirt.

  • When is Coulter enlisting???

  • @plisskin83 What a silly question, so only those who have enlisted can have a say about foreign policy? Does that mean only those that own property get a say about taxes on that property? Or only people who own a business get to have a say about business regulations? Can only a Dr. that has had cancer be able to treat cancer patients? Do you see how nonsensical your question is yet?

  • She has the most prominent Adam's apple. Makes me wonder if she wasn't a boy.

  • @Jacobus323 Why does that interest you so much? Or is it just a sign that you are too stupid to present a reasonable argument against her stances?

  • Ann Coulter sounds and acts like she's drunk.

  • @Jarreason

    Which civil liberties?

  • Coulter is right. Torture works. After listening to her for ten minutes, I was ready to tell her anything.

  • @jgt56 Ziiiiiiing!

  • @jgt56 No it works. If I got someone pulling on your nutsack until you give me info, I aint gonna let you go once you give me the info, I hold you, check out your info if it checks out you go, if not , I resume torturing you. If I keep you from passing out while dismembering you, you'll be in the 9th Cicle of Hell and eventually give me what I want to know because the pain would be unbearable. It would be like birthing monther times 25!

  • Mooselems.

  • @ryguy122189 Well it is nice of you to say that. Maybe it was ranty of me to go off on The Principle Of Non Aggression but you gave me the perfect excuse to do the song-and-dance for the un-initiated.

    Have a great day kinsperson!

  • Coulter's finger wave at 2:28 looks super gay! Definately a tranny. Haha. Trans-tastic!

All hype. No facts. Shame on her. A walking/talking logical fallicy.

Feels odd to comment in a mean spirited fashion, but with her brushing over the fact that many innocent people were killed in war for material gain??? No excuses for pointless executions.

  • @machineguntongue transtastic? OMFG how did we get through these thousands of years of evolution in western thought without using that word? You have made a permanent and invaluable contribution to humanity, you are to be lauded and served breakfast in bed and waffles just the way you like them every day of your life. The world being patently unfair, however, this is rather unlikely.

  • Matt Welch deserves better than to be debating a right wing shock jock like Coulter.

  • @glv80 Some debate, they agreed on 4 of the 6 topics discussed.

  • I bet someone could get Ms. Buttinski Ann Coulter to admit to eating babies with 183 applications of water boarding.

  • Ann Coulter thinks Iraq's natural resources was a reason to invade. That's like saying someone's money is a reason to rob them on the street.

  • @electroplate Unless you are of limited intellect, I don't see how you came to think that that is what Coulter meant.

  • @Obamination2001 Please enlighten me about what she meant then. She stated Iraq's natural resources was one of the factors that justified our invasion. Many countries are rich in natural resources but does that give us a moral right to invade them?

  • @electroplate So limited intellect it is. listen at 3:20 and tell where she says anything comparable to your idiotic line of "That's like saying someone's money is a reason to rob them on the street." I'll give you a hint, since you appear to be clueless, She doesn't say anything about taking those natural resources from Iraq..

  • @Obamination2001 How about instead of giving me a hint, get to the point and spell it out. Why are you hesitant to explain what Coulter meant by stating that natural resources was a reason to invade Iraq? You say I have a limited intellect? Then you should be able to back up that accusation and explain why it's ok to go to war for any reason other than self defense.

  • @electroplate Wow! You're even more limited than I expected.

  • @Obamination2001 Haha. It seems as though you're one that's limited. You can't answer my questions, only lob insults.

  • @Obamination2001

Why would she bring up Iraq's "natural resources" in the first place?

Coulter never made any rational or moral argument, only opportunist ones, thus the "natural resources" line.

And don't insult someone's intelligence unless you can prove you're smarter than them.

  • Read the last part of the video title. "Using torture on Stossel."

    Eats shoots and leaves.

  • What a vile cunt

  • Ann Coulter = World's Biggest A-hole.

    Stossel rocks.

  • afghanistan has natural resources(trillions in precious metals). iraqis are not pro west and instituted an islamist government. saddam was not seeking weapons of mass destruction. iraqis have been protesting the current regime for months. can anyone find a single thing ann coulter said that was not 100% wrong?

  • Kudos to Matt for keeping his cool.

  • @Jarreason She has no core principles that she will not compromise; no first principles/axioms if you will. She decides on a position she will hold first, and then backfills with rationalizations.

  • @ryguy122189

Depends on your definition of "we". A libertarian never initiates hostility or violence and it's very personal. You have to initiate life-threatening violence against me or mine personally for me to RECIPROCATE. In the case of those persecuted by my government, I am in no way sure they have initialized violence against me or my people or in short, MY GOVERNMENT LIES TOO MUCH TO BE TRUSTED WITH A THIMBLE FULL OF SUGAR.

  • @OhNoyate

It really is that simple, A libertarian NEVER initiates violence. And if we need a fall-back, we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all mean are endowed with certain rights and AMONG these are the rights to LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. If you correctly understand the nature of these rights, you hear that word AMONG and this means NOT LIMITED TO. The law is meant to circumscribe men from usurpation of freedom which is ENDLESS AND INFINITE.

    Welch punked.

  • @OhNoyate

So the bad guy always gets the first punch?

  • @dragknuckle Not necessarily but that's closer to true than not.

  • @OhNoyate

And if the first punch is a nuclear warhead taking out Tel Aviv or Chicago?

  • @dragknuckle The doctrine of mutually assured destruction has held for decades.

  • @OhNoyate

That works with pragmatic leaders, like the Soviets and the Chinese. The Jihadists are willing to sacrifice anything to kill the Jews and the infidels.

  • @dragknuckle

Debatable but if true, they still have no nukes and no ICBMs.

  • @dragknuckle

There were people back during the Cold WEar who also were calling Communist regimes irrational and crazy and uncontrollable.

If I'm not mistaken, Richard Pipes even advocated pre-emptive nuclear attacks against the USSR.

So your rhetoric comes from a long line of crazy.

  • @Vebinz

Nice attack. All characterization and no content.

How many suicide bombings were committed by communist regimes? Is there any school of communism that seeks to eradicate the Jewish race? Did communists have a messianic concept like Islam's 12 Imam? Islam is very different from communism; your analogy is weak.

Finally, 100 million people were slaughtered by communist regimes. Hundreds of millions more were enslaved. It was not irrational to discuss the use of force against such evil.

  • @dragknuckle

Marxist, especially Trotskyite Communism advocated global violent revolution, thus the American war-mongerers' belief in Soviet irrationality.

And a pre-emptive nuclear assault on the USSR was not using "force against such evil", but a world-wide suicide.

By advocating such insanity, Pipes was showing himself more psychotic than the Soviets ever were.

  • @Vebinz So you have one guy who advocated a first strike on the Soviets, which I agree would have been disastrous.

That does not change the fact that your entire line of reasoning is fallacious. You are arguing that this guy was nuts, therefore anyone who advocates a first strike at any time is nuts. A combination of an ad homenim attack and fallacy of composition.

The USSR did not have suicide bombers or genocidal ambitions. I don't know that Americans saw them as irrational. Reagan didn't.

  • @dragknuckle

No, I illustrate that what you write about Muslims is a repetition of the nonsense written about Communists.

And ironically, back then the people demonizing Communists were praising Muslims.

You are incapable for seeing that you're just repeating standard inter-changable propaganda. It was communists, now it's Muslims, and maybe 50 years from now it will be those crazy irrational Hindus (as opposed to the rational Muslims and Communists).

  • @Vebinz

Al Qaeda HAS attacked the US on several occasions, in case you haven't watched the news lately.

And the anti-communists most certainly did see the dangers of radical Islam as far back as the 70's. In fact, it was Carter and the Democrats who underestimated the dangers of both, and Reagan and the Republicans who warned of the dangers. I am reading Reagan's diary right now, and he described Saddam Hussein as a "nut."

  • @dragknuckle

Yeah, Reagan really did see the danger, thus his support for the Mujahedeens in Afghanistan.

As for Saddam Hussein, again Reagan clearly did see him as a "nut", thus his suport for him too!

Either Reagan was just a hypocrite, or more likely he was a mindless hypocrite.

  • @Vebinz

Reagan's private writings show clearly that he was very concerned with the threat of Islamic terrorism.

He did not "support" Saddam Hussein. If you remember, Hussein used Russian SCUD missiles and received his military aid from Russia, China, and France, with some chemical weapons from Germany. He was permitted to purchase some chemicals from the US for humanitarian purposes but chose to weaponize them.

  • Why was it wrong to support the Afghan resistance? It was morally justified and in the American national interest. Al Qaeda was never part of the Mujahideen and never received CIA help. It was a group of Saudis and Egyptians funded by bin Ladin's inheritance. They were considered a joke by the Mujahideen. Have you read "The Looming Tower?"

You seem to be arguing that there is no threat from radical Islam while at the same time claiming that Reagan is to blame for the threat of radical Islam.

  • @dragknuckle

I'm not blaming Reagan for anything. I'm just answering your assertion that Reagan saw the danger of so and such.

  • @Vebinz

If Reagan wrote in his diary that he was concerned about Islamic terrorism, then I would that that is conclusive proof that he was concerned about Islamic terrorism. If he called Saddam Hussein a "nut" then I would call that conclusive proof that he thought Saddam Hussein was a nut.

And again, your entire thesis is flawed because it is based on personalities, not facts. Al Qaeda has attacked the US using suicide bombers and will do so again. How do you deter a suicide bomber?

  • @dragknuckle

Presidents lie in their autobiographies, like Clinton did in his.

Further, what Reagan thought and what he did are two different things, and who's to say is the "real" Reagan?

Look at Nixon. He Fedexed Israel weapons in 1973, yet privately wasn't fond of Jews.

Finally, you're obviously a conservative so this won't register with you, but a good way to stop terrorism is to stop provoking it.

  • @Vebinz I am not talking about his autobiography, I am talking about his diary. He refers to this stuff in 1981. Your assertion was that anticommunists thought that Muslims were great. Reagan repeatedly states his concerns about Libya, Saddam, the PLO, Iran, etc.

  • @dragknuckle

The Mujahideen were fighting against the Soviet occupation (much as the Taliban against NATO's), but amongst them were "radial Muslims" with ties to the Pakistani intelligence. All this was known to the CIA but they didn't care as they figured such groups would be good allies against Communism, but as the Israelis had no problem with Hamas early on because they saw them as opposed to the secular nationalist PLO.

  • @dragknuckle

Also you're being either naive or dishonest to assert that the US merely gave Iraq some chemicals and he chose to weaponize them. The US gave him credit with the understanding that he can then buy weapons from other suppliers without US objections.

I've no problems with any of this, but let''s not twist history and make Reagan a Cassandra.

  • Can you see no situation where a pre-emptive strike could be justified? I am not arguing for one right now, just saying that there are situations where allowing your enemy to strike first cannot be permitted. And we do have enemies who would love to destroy us.

  • @dragknuckle

Ofcourse pre-emptive strikes are fine when done against an enemy that has declared an intent to attack you and is preparing to do so. For example, if Saddam Hussein had attacked US forced building up in Kuwait in early 2003, that would be justified.

But the Soviets never showed such open plans.

Look, historically nations only attack other nations #for no reason# in order to take them over (like the Romans). But no one can invade the US. So who'd attack it?

  • Really interesting talk.

    Matt carried himself beautifully.

  • Man that dude's mustache is awesome.

  • @dharresusf

    She'd enjoy it too much

  • Gee. Surprisingly WEAK position against torture by Welch at the end.

  • I think she meant the Stanford prison experiment, not Milgram.

She admits that power leads to destructive behavior, but she's pro-torture.

  • quit pussy footing around with the "rules of engagement" and go to war with the fuckers.

  • "waterboarding, not bad, but torture would've been better" - Ann Coulter.

What a sick disgusting human being. I don't think she's serious though,I think she makes a living trolling and driving ratings by saying extremely controversial things.

  • Matt and Ann agreed on 4(Afg, TSA, private airports, airplane security) of 6(Iraq, torture) topics that were discussed. So other than pure unbridled hatred or being a mindless leftist Dem (I know, I repeat myself), why is any one attacking Ann?

  • @Obamination2001 Aside from the fact that she's a war whore with no regard for human life and who contends with O'Reilly for the most lies repeated in public? Probably no reason atall.

  • @OhNoyate Okay, you are a perfect example of unbridled hatred. Are there any reasonable people out there?

  • @Obamination2001 Hey I have a bridle.

  • @OhNoyate Just not for your hatred.

  • @Obamination2001

So the fact that one libertarian agrees with her, that makes her now absolutely right?

I didn't know Matt Welch possessed such god-like intellectual legitimacy.

  • Comment removed

  • i cant believe this woman..... this is what america is about you dumb ass? dominating other countries and imprisoning the people with fear WITHIN the US?

  • United states have never practiced imperialism in the sense we forcefully take a country's resources. We just allow the people of that country to tap into their own resources and allow them to trade with us.

  • @nagasnharpes Depends on the definition of "we". We as in US Gov't - I would agree, perhaps. However, think Marshall Plan for example: US gov't took money forcefully from US taxpayers, incentivized foreign governments to take money from their citizens to match the US contributions in order to maximize US aid, under the condition that that money would be spent to buy from US corporations. Think this one through: is there anything about this that we are supposed to like?

  • I have to totally disagree with Ann on the Patriot Act. It is not fantastic, it is 1) An unconstitutional violation of the 4th Amend (NSLs by the Federal Marshals et al govt agencies has skyrocketed) 2) They used it to harass people who did nothing other than do drugs.

  • Is Coulter's head actually attached to her neck?

  • @hannas1234 Yes, the bolts are hidden from view.

  • Ann is overcome with fear and insecurity, even 10 years later.

  • Ann Coulter is insane. I don't know what else needs to be said about her.

  • After examining all the reasons to dislike Ann Coulter, number one has to be that she swallows her R's. I hate that.

  • I would have used the example from movie "Unthinkable".

"Would you have tortured the children Anne?" That lady probably would have, because statists are blind to any evil they might do.

  • The Iraq war was useful because it took the fight from our families and our front yard and put it in the hands of professional soldiers, in the bad guys back yard.

  • I'm pretty sure that's the Zimbardo experiments. Not Milgram.

Milgram is the guy who made people think they were torturing people.

  • Ann you are nothing but a piece of shit. You support wars overseas but you refuse to fight in them which I will never understand but that does show you are nothing but a chickenhawk coward.

Oh and since you think radioactive material is safe when are you going to move into a nuclear reactor?

  • 5 minutes alone comes to mind when I see this stupid excuse for a human being. What a skank. I would kick that stupid smirk off her ugly face

  • What is she on?!

  • OMFG she thinks Iraq is the Arab Israel! This bitch is crazy!

  • When Iraq comes up the first point she mentions is "natural resources".. American imperialism/empire anyone?

  • Comment removed

  • Hard to tell when Coulter is being 100% serious or half sarcastic

  • Hard to tell when Coulter is being 100% serious or half sarcastic

  • As per usual, Coulter remains a liability to her own movement. It's not that her heart isn't "in the right place". It is that she is not able to express what it takes to keep us safe.

  • We were already torturing people which is why it took 10 years.

Anyone who thinks water-boarding is not torture... have it done to you and when they are finished then come back here if you still think it isn't torture.

  • milgram experiment is a demonstration of the 'success' of public education

  • Ann is NOT a Cronstitutional Conservative.

Ann is a Neo "Progressive" Statist calling herself a "conservative".

Watch: "Statism's Assembly Line" here on YouTube

  • Ann Coulter is evil.

  • Funny how unlike Ann Coulter, people who have actually been tortured (like John McCain) do not support waterboarding or torture of any kind.

  • @MrBWB I was tortured, and I support torture.

  • Coulter is a neo-liberal plant, set up to herd their mindless constituents into demonizing all conservatives without ever listening to the real ones, like Matt Welch.

  • Ann Coulter gives dumb blondes a bad name.

  • Coulter is a disgusting pro imperialist, state loving, blood thirsty political hack.

  • @19TEC85 I'm a libertarian and like you I oppose the neoconservative view on foreign policy, civil liberties, etc.but where I disagree with you and other of my fellow libertarian is in their inability to see that conservatives like Coulter,Hannity,Limbaugh, etc while wrong on some issues are actually close to our point of view on others. Coulter listed a series of government programs and departments that she agree with libertarians should be eliminated. We shouldn't dismiss people like her.

  • @sleedolfine15 I want to abolish all those govt programs and departments but I take the issues of war and torture much more serious. I rather have a bunch of wasteful departments then wars of aggression, letting govt torture people in secret and spy on people. I do dismiss people like her as blood thirsty and a I question their sincerity when it comes to cutting domestic govt programs, especially when they support big govt republicans like Bush.

  • @19TEC85 All successful political movements are coalitions of people who agree on some issues and disagree on others. The Democratic Party for years won elections with a coalition which included, for instance, African-Americans and southern segregationists. Any political movement large enough to win will inevitably include some disparate forces. Ron Paul frequently make such political arrangement, working with liberals on war & civil liberties and conservatives on tax cuts & domestic spending.

  • @sleedolfine15 That's all true, but I still don't have to like neo-con warmongers that love torture and want to give as much power to the executive branch as possible. And, as I said, I question their sincerity when they talk about shrinking govt. Republicans on the national level have never cut govt, and people like Limbaugh and Coulter supported Big govt Bush, so I know its just rhetoric that makes the real anti-govt people look bad.

  • @19TEC85 I too am disenchanted with the conservative movement which is why I am a libertarian, but,I think, that now,on some subjects,at least, the GOP might be ready to move the country in the right direction. The Tea Party movement has had a beneficial effect on the GOP--partially because they fear the T.P. movement, but partially because the 2010 midterm election has put more GOP reformers in power. Compare that to the Democrats who have largely and frequently insulted the Tea Party.

  • "Torture degrades our moral case?" Nonsense. It only does so if we allow it to, because you have to choose between a life that you know is an enemy combatant who knows something versus the lives of innocent people that may be murdered by some Jihadist. What would you say to someone who's loved ones never came home because you chose something for your own vanity versus your job of protecting the country? I imagine that's what went through Truman's mind when he dropped two atom bombs on Japan.

  • maybe she get paid for volume ...?

  • what would be considered a clown or buffoon in any other culture is considered intellectual here.

she even has the feet for it...

  • Coulter is a little nuts, but not any more so (perhaps a little less so) than many liberal gasbags.

Having said that I still want to bend her over her desk and screw her senseless....

  • @wye4379

Just make sure her head is up or her Adam's apple will gouge the desk.

  • @RandomWalker39 LMFAO. I'm a libertarian and its not my desk so.......

  • @wye4379 shes not really that hot, but she looks like she would be wild.

  • @ledzepy Yeah I know. It would be a total Sport F*ck. I think half the fun would be telling her to "shut the f*ck up".

  • @wye4379 she reminds me of phoenix marie but without the body.

  • Typical NeoCon bullshit!

  • Stopped listening when Coulter started talking. It's just a bunch of bullshit. I expect the same sort of garbage from Obama "blllllahhh why don't the republicans support my BILLLLLL???" Worthless.

  • Phillip Zimbardo Stanford Prison Experiment, not by Stanley Milgram - that was to do with electric shocks

  • @1shabuti1 I'd let Coulter suck my dick. Then I wouldn't have to hear her say such dumb things.

  • Coulter is waaaaay off base regarding the Afghanistan/Iraq wars. Al Qaeda was using Afghanistan as Base of Operations and was therefore a legitimate target, Iraq was not! Moreover, Coulter’s Patriot Act contentions are imbecilic.

  • This woman's opinions are just that, her opinions.Nothing she says is based on facts.

  • Regardless of the specifics of her views, Ann Coulter is simply an ugly person. She talks about Middle Eastern countries as if they're only disposable resources in America's arsenal of global Manifest Destiny.

  • i love Ann

  • What a sadistic psychopath. Coulter is a disgusting reminder of the shit that lingers under America's shoes and rides up its shoe laces.

  • Ann Coulter is just insane....It hurts to listen to her more then 10 seconds....while she might be right about certain things but she completely wrong on so many others.

  • Ann Coulter is just insane....It hurts to listen to her more then 10 seconds....

  • i heard in china that women have par down guys. they should bring that to the tsa.

  • Where they disagree I have to side with Welch.

Coulter should try to be a little less shrill.

The U.S. was founded with the idea our rights (like the right not to be tortured) come from out humanity. That's why our government has to give those rights to everyone, U.S. citizen or not. Saying our government violating foreigners rights is OK basically destroys the protection we have against them doing whatever they want to us.

  • She looks like a ghoul

  • "Torture works wonderfully!"

I hereby nominate Ann Coulter for torture.

  • Thanks Ann... Torture works when it does and doesnt work when it doesnt... How insightful!

  • I remember getting lambasted for saying I didn't like Coulter.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone.

  • Iraq is an arab Israel... BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

  • Afghanistan has a lot of natural resources. They just discovered $1 trillion in minerals in Afghanistan. Coulter is a hack.

  • Ann Coulter is INSANE. Her positions aren't based on facts or reality. I could just mash a bunch of keys on my keyboard and come up with equally "good" arguments.

  • matt welch schooled her at the end on torture. Great segment!

  • This turned into an agreement because the libertarian couldn't make his only point against Iraq which was the fiscal one cause he was debating a conservative.

  • "Iraq is a fantastic country"

She keeps talking about how great Iraq was. So why did we invade it? If it was already good, then why did we need a war there?
