  • I can get about half way through this album before my hands and arm start cramping up. ;)

  • Damn. Sounds like im sitting right in front of a big ol Marshall.

  • YEAH!!

  • I've always been curious what guitar both you and Johnny use. What kind is it?

  • @toasteroven427

Johnny used a Mosrite based on the Ventures II model. Those are out of production for decades and have become very rare and extremely expensive. I use a Mosrite copy from Eastwood Guitars.

  • @woodyamsterdam

    Awesome! Thanks so much!

  • picked up the CD yesterday for 3 euro, today I started playing "blitzkrieg bob and teenage lobotomy" by watching that there I see where I went wrong on Lobotomy I got blitzkrieg like you there.

well done that is some good guitar playn

  • hey, can you do we're outta here?

  • @royalrumble2001

I'll put it on the list:)

  • Great, the songs are in the original tone?

    Good

  • @pavelramone

  • @sabbathack Thanks!

Then you are definitely in a better physical shape as I am lol!

  • @woodyamsterdam

God no! :) My arms are killing me about half way in and my thumb muscle on my left hand KILLS from holding the bar chord. :)

  • Wow, man..ur a beast^_^

  • hey just rewatching this and i got a funny thought in my head woody have you ever tried a johnny ramone spin LOL JK :)

  • @1234deedeeramone

    No, not really haha!

I'd probably smash some furniture and break the neck of my guitar if I tried:)

  • LOL

  • You totally rock. I'm getting an Eastwood JR!

  • @mgyou2

Thanks! Have fun with your purchase:)

  • man every morning i get i play this whole album with my guitar you know whats cool my mom used to see them in there CBGB's days and one time joey was talking to someone and backed up into my mom and turned around and said iam sorry and once deedee asked my mom for a ciggerete

  • Awesome! Those were the days that band members mixed with the audience before and after a gig instead of being escorted to their limos by bodyguards lol!

  • hey is the its alive album 1 concert or a couple concerts

  • I think it's 1 concert that they did on new years eve in London.

  • my dad told me that he saw them back in 81 in Cascais (Portugal) :D

  • @ChineseR0ck Your dad is blessed, just like I am:)

  • woody+ramones=great

  • Thank you very much:)

  • what set up are you using and what settings because i cant seem to get the sound right when i jammin along to the records

  • Guitar into Boss ME50 compression 2, level 5; into Marshall MG50DFX dirty channel, gain 4. bass 7, contour 5, treble 7. I post process the sound in Pinnacle Studio+ .

1 Playback speaker is 40 cm away from the camera at an angle and the other I use as a monitor; amp approx 2.5 meter, pointing almost straight to the camera. It's a matter of trial & error.

  • cheers woody

  • and bringing the Pearls

  • I am moving to Holland

  • But Texas has a better climate:) Maybe I should finally apply for a Green Card.

  • Its hotter than hell here right now. Maybe you should come here. Your English is way better than my Dutch...lol

  • johnny would be proud. :) awesome!

  • Thank you!

  • nice guitar man

    where did u find that

  • It's a used Eastwood JR-Elite that I found on a Dutch auction site.

  • hi

    I am writing from argentina

I'm a fan of the ramones

and congratulate you as you play

I wanted to know if you could tell me the chords of the song

    "needles and pins"

    thank you very much.

  • How much does this hurt your wrist. Seriously. Haha. Great covers dude!

  • Practice, practice, practice... lol! When I did this series I could barely finish each part but now I can play half the album without passing out;)

    Thanks for your comment.

  • It's Alive is by far the best Ramones album, great covers by the way

  • Thanks! Also the 'It's Alive' DVD is awesome!

  • greaaat!!

are u using a real mosrite ventures?

  • Thanks! No, it's an Eastwood JR-Elite with some modifications.

  • this fxxxing great!! i see you have the eastwood. are you using their stock pick up or you installed a dimarzio fs-1. i ask beacuse i'm about buying the eastwood and was wondering if their stock pickup is any good... thanks for the great videos!!!

  • Thanks for your comment. I have indeed the Dimarzio FS-1 installed. The stock pickup is not too bad but I found it pretty noisy and a little unbalanced. I also changed the tuners for Grovers and the roller bridge for a Gibson LP bridge to get a lower action and a better sustain. One advice: try before you buy! I got mine used and the setup was horrific: bowed neck, nut not cut deep enough and intonation way off and I doubt if it was the previous owners fault...

  • what is your guitar pedal (effects)

  • I have a Boss-ME50 but for Ramones I only use the compression function from the Boss (only a little) and the overdrive channel of my Marshall. (gain: 4)

  • goede cover man hoe kom je in godsnaam aan die gitaar? ik wil hem ook!!!!

  • Loco Live is played faster as a whole (too fast maybe?) but -paradoxically- because of that, Johnny basically plays sort of 4th note downstrokes instead of 8th note, which is much easier to do indeed.

  • Nice cover! It's Alive is one of my favorites.

  • Nice job! Glad you are doing this, people ask me all the time if I'm gonna do this album (since I did Loco Live)...now I don't have to do it!

  • My pleasure;)

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • i know how you feel, when i was in chicago for a month i forgot to play some songs

  • alright your back, and good job great cover

  • Thanks. It's amazing how quick you lose your endurance after 1 week of doing nothing:) It took me 2 days to get the right speed in the downstrokes again. (and I was still sweating like a pig...)
