How did you put the Analog Mix in the IN?

Homegrown tutorials such as this one would be improved tremendously if they were steamlined. Technical textbooks can have the same problem... you have to wade through and mentally edit-out lots of sidetracks: Please decide what the point is and then don't drift from it at all. It makes for far less rambling presentation, and sharpens the whole experience of listening and learning.

@outphase78 i need help. i did everything on the video. i don't have the "rave lead" sound, so i put it on default. i put the vocals and the carrier to the vocoder. I panned the vocal to the left and carrier to the right. when i play some notes on the piano, it doesn't work. I check the mixer and everytthing, but it still didn't work. please help.

@ap1p1 Did you adjust the sliders on the vocoder? Turn the wet all the way up and the other 2 should be slid down. And you said when you play "some" notes, so it still works just not with all notes? If that's the case it could be the mod you're using for the vocoder. Try another lead sound.

Someone probably already said it, but it -should- work like a bunch of bandpass filters and it takes the mod signal and it goes "Alright, this is how loud each of these bands are" and then it uses that to control the volume of the bands of the carrier signal. It should, anyway. There are 3 filters so I'm not sure what is happening.

ive got to the stage of it recognising my voice and adding the rave lead as a channel in the mixer. but as soon as i talk or play a note it just fuckin maxes out hard because of the feedback. im doing this on a laptop with inbuilt mic and speakers. is this the cause? do i need a separate mic and separate speakers to avoid ear murdering feedback?

The mixer detects my voice, but I can't hear anything, cause on the ASIO settings, my output doesn't seem to work, but works on other applications. I use Razer Megalodon through my ASIO settings.

can you make one on how to make your vocoder set up sound like vocodex? because i tried a very similar set up with vocoder and id didnt sound good so i experimented and set up a vocodex in a 4th channel and sent vocoder straight to vocodex and used a saw and it sounded how you would imagin it should sound? or did i do something wrong...just sounded like my voice with a synth over it through the vocoder. but thanks for the help

I've just downloaded the vengance pack but I can't change the note length of synths and basses and other sounds, could anyone tell me how to do that? Changing their length in the pianoroll doesn't work.

@Housecpzombie yea bro, go to the pattern sequencer and click on the sound to bring up the channel settings. click "ins" (instrument) and you will see "pan," "vol," etc. make sure the "vol" tab is highlighted. you will see two "waveforms" the top one is the important one. click the box that says "time". this makes it follow the line you see. turn the "att" knob all the way left n turn the "hold" knob to 5th notch. Play with the other ones. "Res" makes it resonate after the sound has stopped

Warbeats has a tutorial on replacing skins, I believe using FL version 8. I may be wrong on the version he uses, but he explains skins, and it should be the same concept if you have version 9.0.

No offense but this video does not need to be 17 minutes long. For those of us who don't have lightning fast internet, it's painful. Drop your vocal sample and your synth into the same FX channel. Add the fruity vocoder. Pan your vocals to the left and your synth to the right. Voila, your synth will now talk with the vocals.
