Wow..if i had the money i would buy this..but i bought cubase 6 last month and it ate my budget..but im gonna torrent this no doubt if i can find it and then i'll buy it when i can afford it
I admire JR in many ways, specially for his virtuoso playing style and his interest for new music tech. However, I can't help but think that this kind of music is really best for live performances and has a very show-off character... I would not want to listen to that at home. It's a bit like wanking... ;) Still gave it a thumbs up though...
I hope you DO realize that *all* of the elements used in Omnisphere were recorded analog, right? As in, THIS is *more* real than your modulated sine/square/saw/etc waves...
the problem with this demo is that I know omnisphere is amazing but you can't judge how good it sounds for an average user cause rudess is so good he could make my Sk-1 sound like a steinway lol! amazing....
what programs do you use to run omnisphere? i use cubase 5 and i don't know for what reason i can't hear anything....it shows that omnisphere is running, it shows that i'm playing something but i can't hear anything. any ideas?
unfortunately, keyboards just can't seem to capture the sound of a real guitar. i do love keyboards and i'm starting to really get into them now. i'm definitely gonna be getting several ipod touch apps related to keyboard and synths. they look amazing
agreed. there was alot of parts on... i think it was "awake", where kevin moore had to record the left hand, and then record the right hand, whereas rudess generally does both at the same time. Moore was good, but rudess, is at an obscene level.
wow really? that kinda reduces my oppinion of moore haha btw, have you seen Jordan's ipod app? don't you think Portnoy should release a virtual drumset app? he's already got it on his website, i think it'd be awesome to jam on that drum kit while i'm waiting on my nxt class to start or soemthing
hi!!!i m italian and i don t speak english very well...can you say me what is the name of the first preset that rudess plays at 1:18???the choir(i think he say SOPRANOS but i don t understand the preset's name) please help me....please please it s important
Oh, you can actually hear the choir sound in some of the songs like "Wither" and some parts of "A nightmare to remeber" in the slow middle section. You just have to listen, its there! =)
I wish Jordan would bring more of this side of him to Dream Theater's music. Some of it is in evidence on the latest album, but hidden deep within the songs
Man they should let Rudess write songs. He has such amazing chord progressions. I mean not that they don't already have great stuff in DT but man when I hear Rudess play alone you hear so many epic moments.
@fingerboy18 I actually have to disagree with you because there are (were) 2 main writers in the modern Dream Theater camp...John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy. Look at all the albums after 6 degrees. Those 2 were the primary writers. Not to say Rudess didn't contribute...cause he did...he just didn't solely write like the other 2. Now look back to Images and Words and Awake and you will find the whole band wrote and even lyrics.
The reason they can't do that is because he can program between his keyboard all the instruments of the band, and produce an entire album by himself, lol.
@dimebagalways Oh yes I know he writes songs. I mean as in writing songs with lyrics not instrumentals.
He writes but he doesn't write a Dream Theater song by himself like Kevin Moore did.
Kevin Moore wrote phenomenal lyrics as well as music without having to sound all technical all the time.
Not taking anything away from Rudess cause he is my fave keyboardist of all time. Just saying he doesn't seem to contribute like Kevin Moore did...now in saying that it may not be Rudess' fault.
Well there are 4 things total to the right of the mkorg, a black odd Mouse ball (huge ball) 7:51, another item on the keyboard 7:54, and two more items on the table...
yes, he is using the nano-key to switch patches. i dont know how you set that up, i only know that the keys of the nano-key are able to send Midi Control Changes.
Rudess is the man.
