I admire JR in many ways, specially for his virtuoso playing style and his interest for new music tech. agreed. there was alot of parts on... i think it was "awake", where kevin moore had to record the left hand, and then record the right hand, whereas rudess generally does both at the same time. Moore was good, but rudess, is at an obscene level.

Oh, you can actually hear the choir sound in some of the songs like "Wither" and some parts of "A nightmare to remeber" in the slow middle section. You just have to listen, its there! =)

@fingerboy18 I actually have to disagree with you because there are (were) 2 main writers in the modern Dream Theater camp...John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy. Look at all the albums after 6 degrees. Those 2 were the primary writers. Not to say Rudess didn't contribute...cause he did...he just didn't solely write like the other 2. Now look back to Images and Words and Awake and you will find the whole band wrote and even lyrics.
