  • @RizzoAstronama Haha..keep on the hush.

  • He is AMAZING! :D

  • Just imagine Mozart and Jordan locked up in a studio to create the best music piece ever made. It would be priceless.

  • He is an awesome professional musician...

  • his name should be Jordan Rules!

  • I love the nano keys just chillin in the corner :D

  • sick tutorial

  • Amazing!!!!!!

  • human arpeggiator

  • Love the sound at 5:47, just beautiful and full of life :)

  • This man is a wizard.

  • His hands are that fast its actually unimaginable, that has blown me away, it's like it's been speeded up, amazing!

  • God damn this guy could make some amazing Trance :)

  • I admire JR in many ways, specially for his virtuoso playing style and his interest for new music tech. However, I can't help but think that this kind of music is really best for live performances and has a very show-off character... I would not want to listen to that at home. It's a bit like wanking... ;) Still gave it a thumbs up though...

  • @ 4:22 is Glorious Guitars and it sounds far better than this when you play it yourself as youtube compresses everything.

  • crazy good!

  • wow 4.22 is incredible! what is that instrument??!!

  • Isn't the title of this video redundant? Awesome Jordan Rudess? That's saying awesome awesome man McAwesome in my language.

  • Are those two midi controllers the NANO's of KORG?

  • Does anyone else think 6:02 is Golden Axe for the Sega Mega Drive? lol

  • some way or other

  • My bad; what is the 76 key controller he's using here?

  • What is the primary 88 key controller that Jordan is using?

  • He really makes it shine

  • choirs and all were cool.

  • it sound like children piano, very advenced but deadly and cold compare to a real synthetiser. No groove...

  • @maliksenna

I hope you DO realize that *all* of the elements used in Omnisphere were recorded analog, right? As in, THIS is *more* real than your modulated sine/square/saw/etc waves...

    Can you say ignorance?

  • This guy got talent

  • What is that string on 1:57 WOW! Which preset?

  • the first choir is from Omnisphere

  • Glorius Guitars

  • Sorry, doesn't sound like an actual choir. I'm such a fucking snob.

  • @meserostalking You are totally correct, though.

  • What exactly was the patch name for the strings he played?

  • @zeonflare 1.54

  • It dont sound VStish when your listening to the real Omnisphere running on your own computer , youtubes compression ruins the sound quality.

  • Rudess you're AMAZING!!! :)

  • ok all great, but the guitars sound VST'ish still compared to a roland fantom for example

  • He should turn the strings part from 1:57 onward into a new Dream Theater song! Damn!

  • wood voice mix not bad

  • hourglass at 4:50

  • The unbridled talent of a genius

  • I agree he's got some nice harmonic knowledge...dig his changes

  • some _ucked up staff at the end!

  • those strings 1:57 are crazy gorgeous

  • @ntzibanas Looks like a Korg nano thing

  • 5:46 - 7:02 OMFG I CAME EVERYWHERE... and i watched it again and came everytime i watched it over and over :D

  • what is that device h control the parameters of omnisphere ??

  • 2:44 Lebron James!

  • Absolutely amazing sounds!

  • I love the small guy (or girl ???) at 3:25, who try to play the "air drum" :p

  • he should use the sounds from 8.50 in one of dream theater songs that would be cool!

  • u are the best pianist!!!! u can do music to movies and games!! ALL!!

  • Is it bad if my guitar doesn't sound as good as his keyboard on the guitar setting? Probably not. It's Rudess.

  • 9:09 to 9:13 sounds like Streets of Rage III !

This man is wonderful, he improvises a choral in counterpoint @ 1:19 ! Simply amazing !

  • 7:03 is soo good

  • Try -

     PRS Lead Guitar B

  • Took me weeks to find that guitar i was palying with the wrong one for ages then the bastards added another 200 patches in an update.

  • I love "hourglass" at 4:22

  • the problem with this demo is that I know omnisphere is amazing but you can't judge how good it sounds for an average user cause rudess is so good he could make my Sk-1 sound like a steinway lol! amazing....

  • I just want the piano skills.

  • what programs do you use to run omnisphere? i use cubase 5 and i don't know for what reason i can't hear anything....it shows that omnisphere is running, it shows that i'm playing something but i can't hear anything. any ideas?

  • I cannot Find the patch "glorious guitar" : / ??

  • yup, adagio expressivo is my favorite....

  • how much is omnisphere anyways?

  • when he plays its like a massaging feeling on your balls

  • @zetamesche

lmao yeah, with only the most talented hands in the world

  • @zetamesche hahaha crazy but kinda true lol

  • @zetamesche And thats not gay at all...

  • @zetamesche bahahahahahaha

  • unfortunately, keyboards just can't seem to capture the sound of a real guitar. i do love keyboards and i'm starting to really get into them now. i'm definitely gonna be getting several ipod touch apps related to keyboard and synths. they look amazing

  • Check out the Super Articulation sounds in Yamaha's Tyros 3 for the Concert Guitar, really very close to the real thing.

  • I almost started crying at 1:57. That's just too amazing. XD

  • and people say he isn't as good as Kevin Moore haha WRONG!!!!!

  • agreed. there was alot of parts on... i think it was "awake", where kevin moore had to record the left hand, and then record the right hand, whereas rudess generally does both at the same time. Moore was good, but rudess, is at an obscene level.

  • wow really? that kinda reduces my oppinion of moore haha btw, have you seen Jordan's ipod app? don't you think Portnoy should release a virtual drumset app? he's already got it on his website, i think it'd be awesome to jam on that drum kit while i'm waiting on my nxt class to start or soemthing

  • this is a amazing software, make a musicians day a little better i think he he:)

i have to just dream of it so far but in future maybe.

  • That was beautiful!

  • hi!!!i m italian and i don t speak english very well...can you say me what is the name of the first preset that rudess plays at 1:18???the choir(i think he say SOPRANOS but i don t understand the preset's name) please help me....please please it s important

  • @pier90lamezia look for the name

    choir full vibrato heavy

  • The LTE part was the best 5:00 to 5:30

  • cool

  • 5:48 to 7:55 .... :Q____

  • What's that gorgeous guitar-based patch at 4'20? I've got Omnisphere and I can't find it. I WANT THAT SOUND!!!!!!!

  • @hoozdadaddie ok its called "glorious guitar"

  • this man....everything he touches turns to Gold

  • this is fantastic....thanks for sharing the video...it's really cool..!!

  • Oh, you can actually hear the choir sound in some of the songs like "Wither" and some parts of "A nightmare to remeber" in the slow middle section. You just have to listen, its there! =)

  • What song can you hear the choir sounds in then? I've listened to the album a fucking lot but can't seem to hear it :P

  • Dude, the absolute first song on the entire album, right in the beginning when everything comes in. 'A Nightmare To Remember'

  • A Nightmare To Remember. It has choir written all over it haha!

  • Any idea what's the acoustic guitar patch used between 4:23 and 5:23 ?

  • what on earth is that controller? pitch wheel AND a joystick? I WANT IT! :D

  • It's a Roland A-50

  • OoO! THE BEST VIDEO EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

  • 6:48 is stunning

  • I wish Jordan would bring more of this side of him to Dream Theater's music. Some of it is in evidence on the latest album, but hidden deep within the songs

  • Wow this thing has some good sounds in it.. And DAMN that Jordan plays well!!

  • my god...

  • Sound quality is awesome! (in HQ)

  • he is almost a keyboard god (AA)!!!

  • Jordan Rudess are truly a wizard, he can play everything =)

  • He sends shivvers down my spine everytime without fail.

  • this guy can play!!!omnisphere rulez, the sounds are amazing and the controls are real easy:)

  • Man they should let Rudess write songs. He has such amazing chord progressions. I mean not that they don't already have great stuff in DT but man when I hear Rudess play alone you hear so many epic moments.

  • Jordan has as much input as anyone else musically. They are a compromising band without a primary writer, for music that is.

  • @fingerboy18 I actually have to disagree with you because there are (were) 2 main writers in the modern Dream Theater camp...John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy. Look at all the albums after 6 degrees. Those 2 were the primary writers. Not to say Rudess didn't contribute...cause he did...he just didn't solely write like the other 2. Now look back to Images and Words and Awake and you will find the whole band wrote and even lyrics.

  • @themusicman777

The reason they can't do that is because he can program between his keyboard all the instruments of the band, and produce an entire album by himself, lol.

But I agree with you 100%

  • @themusicman777 Everyone in Dream Theater contributes to the writing process. :/

  • @themusicman777 - What makes you think he doesn't write songs in DT?

  • @themusicman777 I do total AGREE with you! let's hope that without Portnoy both Petrucci and Rudess take the helm of the band.

  • @themusicman777

He's one of the three main songwriters.

  • @themusicman777

that is the truth brother .... when i listen to this i just wanna start making music again

    he is an inspiratonal

  • @themusicman777 He does write songs...

  • @dimebagalways Oh yes I know he writes songs. I mean as in writing songs with lyrics not instrumentals.

He writes but he doesn't write a Dream Theater song by himself like Kevin Moore did.

Kevin Moore wrote phenomenal lyrics as well as music without having to sound all technical all the time.

Not taking anything away from Rudess cause he is my fave keyboardist of all time. Just saying he doesn't seem to contribute like Kevin Moore did...now in saying that it may not be Rudess' fault.

  • Oh yes the sound from A Nightmare To Remember.

  • so i guess the question is...what can't he do?

  • @yyzny21688

    Make babies... hehe

  • @yyzny21688

    play soulfully

  • @yyzny21688 haaha lol, yea

  • The clarity in these sounds are incredible! There is a huge amount of potential for this album, and I'm very excited about it.

  • wow! from 5:45 it's amazing!!!! sounds really cool!

  • does anyone know what the two things on the right of the nano-kontrol are?

  • Well there are 4 things total to the right of the mkorg, a black odd Mouse ball (huge ball) 7:51, another item on the keyboard 7:54, and two more items on the table...

  • when he plays the acoustic guitar patch sounds lovely, hourglass song!

  • lol. yeah. definitely what i was thinking.

  • Jordan is king

  • did use the nano korg keyboard to switch the patches? how does one set that up in Omnisphere?

  • yes, he is using the nano-key to switch patches. i dont know how you set that up, i only know that the keys of the nano-key are able to send Midi Control Changes.

  • Does anyone know what omnisphere patch he is using at 3:36 ?

  • ungodly

  • sweet!!

  • Indeed a phat sound :D
