  • OTTPA (Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling) and NTPA (National Tractor Pulling Association) used to govern these events but Hot Rod bought them out. My Uncle designed and builds one of the most sought after frames being used by the mini-modified class. My Aunt placed 1st in the tri-state area 3 years in a row, the only female ever to accomplish that. She drove two tractors designed and built by my Uncle, one named Foolish Pleasure and the other named Performance Plus. Began about 1968 w/V6 Buick.

  • These are specifically designed to pull dead weight. If the rules Hot Rod puts on hitch location and hight would allow for the 65 ton Abrams weight to be used as a downforce the only thing stopping these from dragging a tank would be tire size and load capacity. Tire limits are in the rules or they would have full pulls with the sled and a tank attached to it. Change the rules to accomodate a tank and tires will beat tracks. Now the issue's horsepower, 5 Rodecks vs. 1 turbine..you do the math.

  • this is the organization me and my dad used to pull with

  • Great video thanks for posting it .

  • ok, if my tractor ever ended up on its side, id have to find a new hobby.

and idt the jet engines are entertaining at all... and youd need like a aviations major in order to pull them it seems...

and lmao, the tractor came, apart from the sled.

and where the hell is this tank your talking about...??

  • I always enjoy a good redneck garden party!

Sit back with your woman and a six pack and watch the good ole boys mow the lawn....

  • Man, Those turbo charged 2WD's are TOO quiet. Throw a big fucking super charger on em. Ur set to go pulling. Anyone know the Average Cubic Inch for the Modern 2WD Pulling Truck?

  • Amazing video!

    getmovies4free(dot)tk

  • No, an Oshkosh HET would be able to pull till the end of the world, and back again.

  • Do you really think an Oshkosh can pull harder than a tank? Man, you don't know the difference between a wheel driven vehicle and a track driven vehicle like a tank. Nothing comes close to the traction of a tank, not even a caterpilar, just compare the weights!

  • I do, in fact. That's what they're made for, hauling enormously heavy machines. Hence the name, " HEAVY EQUIPMENT TRANSPORT."

  • You must be kidding. The tank has not only a better traction because of it has track instead of wheelb but the tank has also much more power. One tank like an Abrams M1 can pull easily half a dozens of your Oshkoshs on a sandy track like shown on this video.

  • Let's just agree to disagree then, shall we? Kudos to you for supporting your argument in a gentlemanly fashion. Good day sir.

  • Well, after a friend gave me a hint I must admit that there is indeed a wheel driven vehicle that can pull even harder than a tank, it is the Liebherr T 282B that has 3650 hp and weights 203 tons (empty!) and 592 tons full loaded. You see, these are the dimensions if you want to beat a tank, not a "toy" like an Oshkosh.

  • @xt660r the 3650hp one is the cummins QSK78 V-18 but there is another with a 90 litre V-20 with only 3500hp wtf is goin there

  • BTW: Here you see a tank pulling. Of course a full pull: watch?v=8JGHfqNeKKU

  • rich17279, the weights move as the tractor pulls it, they get closer to the rear end of the tractor. if you watch closely you can see the weight moving. watch at 6:10, you can clearly see it

  • why do they stop near the end? how does it get heavier? sorry have no idea about tractor pulling!

  • well as you can see the tractor has does plowers in front so when u go fast/farther it picks up more dirt and causeing it to me heavier and also the car looses grip

  • There is a weight box that moves forward on the sled. As they weight moves forward, it is transferred from adding weight to the rear wheels of the sled, to adding weight to the front "skid plate" on the sled. Thus, the vehicle goes from pulling a rolling weight, to dragging the same weight along (i.e. no longer rolling). This makes it increasingly more difficult as the weight moves forward...thus why they slow at the end.

  • i would like a road legal 1

  • I live in santa rosa cal, and back in the 80's and maybe early 90's the truck/tractor pulls and mud bogs would be held at the sonoma county fair grounds, but not any more. the sorry ass wine drinking horse race watching liberals dont like the track being disturbed and cant stand the beautiful screaming engines

  • Whats up with the sled ? looks too big for those mini pullers.

  • wow i wish our fair was like that =]

  • great vid

hi anyone want to chat Mo

  • so... When the gas crisis happened, and it was like $4/gallon, did this along with most other motorsports kinda die down?

  • My grandfather invented the first modern weight-conversion sled used in truck/tractor pulling. Phil Brommel out of Truro, Iowa

  • i invented the dance floor! I'm toadstoolpoopfist from the northpole

  • smoky jones ismy nucle

  • looked like a frag exploded in the bottom end of that last one.

i live in santa rosa ca. at our local fair grounds(sonoma county) they used to have the truck pulls like this a few time per year back in the 80's i was just a kid. no more though, its 2008. just monster jam on the other side and its weak cause the track in so small. i always enjoyed the mystic of sled pulling. very diverse and lots of power. i miss it now that im older

  • aWoWsome amazing!

  • its funny how bat there safty is on those tractors in different countrys

  • jesus christ the last one at the end was NUTS

  • if you grew up in the late 70's early 80's how could you not like this stuff? where else can you find such a diverse organization than truck & tractor pulling? 6 engined modifieds? 3 allison aircraft engines? 3 to 4 turbines? how crazy is all this? then going to a show and felling it. Its like drag racing, on TV its like ok, but GO TO ONE then tell me yeah or ney. id think its yeah!!!!

  • makes my tractor look like a baby

  • Have to agree, and there's no cheeseball music to cover up what we REALLY want to hear.

  • 09:00 ... ouch!!

  • FFribble: Grow up, if u think ur clever ur not. U visit a video that has absolutely no connection to ur point, if there is any.

  • spoken like a true incestually bred piece o' amerocrap tailer trash sumbiatch ignoramus - suprised you're able to muster up the effort to actually turn on your computer let alone complete a semi-sentence - looky here (hick speak - I know) he even used the correct punctuation in there - complete with quotation marks and all... this deserves a round of applause

  • What ever happened to the old US Hot Rod Association stadium shows? You know the ones that were not only a competition but a show, with funnycars (Chi Town Hustler, Red Baron, Warlord), 2WD (Magnum Jr, Orange Blossom, Psycho), 4WD (Gone AWOL, Yellow Fever, Black Magic), Tractors (Green Monster, Top Gun), and the original moster TRUCKS (Not fiberglass tubes shaped like animals) like Bigfoot, USA-1

  • I love this shit! USA-1 was my favorite as a kid.

  • mmmmmm cant you just feeeeeel the earth warming quicker!

  • REDNECK...

  • agreed.

  • AHH yes american engineering at its best!

  • the bonus material is the best!

  • what the hell is with some these tractors? some of them sound really week, like they are going to die. like at 420 i think, the yellow tractor with the turbos sounds like the engine is about to shut off. sweet bonus footage.

  • the have Jet motors on them thats y they sound weak

  • why do u only get to 300

  • ive been to tractor pulls with single engines with big carberatours but a three engine one is amazing

  • do they use spiky tires

  • all the ones that crash are dutch pullers :P from the netherlands :P lol

  • weird alchoolic1100 the jet engines not got traction no trasmision

  • Did you not read mine and his comments?

  • Boring video. No crashes at all.

  • thnx very much

  • man listen to the trurbo chargers.

you know some of 'em have independent brakes on the rear wheels to help them steer, but it also obviouisly slows 'em down.

ATTENTION ALL JET TRACTOR EXPERTS-how in blazes do they gear jet engines to the wheels?

  • Its called a "turbo prop"

    QUOTE FROM WIKIPEDIA

A Turboprop engine is a type of gas turbine engine used in aircraft. Most of a turboprop engine's power is used to drive a propeller, and the propellers used are very similar to the propellers used in piston or reciprocating engine-driven aircraft (with the exception that turboprops usually use a constant velocity propeller

  • Not to be picky, but in this application they're called turboshaft engines or simply turbines. They function almost exactly like a turboprop, but are more common to auxiliary power units, some boats, and helicopters, where they're used to create rotational power versus thrust.

  • it doesnt really matter, he knows how it works now

  • I love it when tractors have, like, six engines ha ha ha, Brilliant!

  • dont we all?

  • i hate chain mall

  • i wanna see these things drag race.

    haha

  • loved the deere at 7:20

    NOTHING RUNS LIKE A DEERE.

  • the point of this is to hear the power, feel the power in your chest, smell the alcohol, send chills down your spine, make the hair on the back of your neck stand up anything a normal guy should like, i could watch this all day, im from the country and i love this kinda of stuff. We were using my grandpas tractor to pull this old building and the exhaust was smokin black, tires spinnin and im in the cab with a HUGE smile on my face, good times good times

  • wats the point of this it seems boring

  • turbosauce,

if its so unskillful, lets put you in the seat of one of them or a super semi or super farm tractor, even a street diesel pickup, and see if you can even get it off the line. The machine is only as good as the person operating it, can tell that you havent been to a pull before so you wouldnt have any idea.

P.S a mod diesel touareg wouldnt even hang with the pickups, let alone one of these.

  • its just wallet racin, whoever has the msot cash to spend wins, takes 1% skill and 99% machine, thats why its all rich dumb hill billies

  • yea i have 6 of these in my yard jk lol

  • lets see jap cars go like that

  • Yeeehaw!!! Simple hillbillies, where to begin?! Monster trucks? Rodeos? Bud Lite? 2nd cousins? Someone, please enlighten me.

  • i think a vw touareg v10 diesel (modified) could do better, you need torque and lots of it

  • You are kidding right? Have not seen any touaregs used on a farm. It's diesel is a toy compared to these tractors.

  • We're talking about vehicles with maybe 3 or 4 engines here, each one probably 8-9 litres in capacity, running on ethanol and producing 1500-2000 horsepower each (thats per engine, probably more). You couldn't modify a shitty little touareg to do anything like this

  • PS I wouldnt even like to imagine the torque they produce. Alot more than even a diesel, unless its a train engine

  • WAT HAPPENED TO THE LAST ONE

  • the last one threw out 1 or 2 piston rods.

  • WHERES ALL THE DIESELS

  • i like big tractor's

  • awesome video man, i'm from the midwest where most all the drivers/tractors are from, know most of the drivers, awesome job throwin' together the vid!!!

  • proud to be from the midwest... lawl

  • the last tractor threw out like 3 rods at the same time.

  • it's really bad, people have really time to waste

  • you got to be kidding me thoughs idiots on the ooops part are sooo fucking dumb thats why it started here in america and is going to stay here because we at least have sence but other wise its a good vid

  • you're weird.

  • this was in reply to someone whose commment is no longer here.

  • Id like the job sitting in that sled thing on the back :-) Yeah some wild pieces of machinery there! My old Fordson would get a hernia...

  • Good work, very nice and complete video!

  • That last ooops is a mind blower.

  • Yeah man, that was sick....

  • not really.. think of how much alchol they shove into that motor.. especially to get the amount of horse power they get out of them.. i think up wards of 8000

  • I like wheelies!

  • I love tractor pulls. My favorite time of the year here in McLouth is Threshing Bee time just for the tractor pulls.
