When comparing the covers I really think this version should sit right next to the original. While it's the same song they're completely different and great in their own ways. I absolutely love Machine Head but theirs fall short to me. This one keeps the thrash aspect that the original demands but Cradle'a black metal influence on the song is spot on.

this is an IMPROVEMENT on Maiden's original in my opinion. It's edgier, the instrumentals are clean and more metallic. Cradle of Filth is not a great band to me, but I like this remake. His voice works for these lyrics.

Well, I've been an Iron since the 80s and I prefer Bruce's version. Still, I have that whenever I want to listen to it. This is pretty good, bearing in mind Maiden have never been death metal. I think this is true homage to my favourite Maiden song, and I think Cradle nailed the Steve/Dave/Adrian bass/guitar sound.

I enjoyed it. However, the Beast version is going to stay on my iPod, and I doubt I'm going to listen to this again. Respect to Cradle, but they aren't my favourite band!

@nightmarealivemetal Man.You gotta listen to the Long Beach Arena version,where Maiden did this live.The instrumental is pretty much the same as it was in Cradle,but there was no keyboard,and Steve's bass,Nicko's drumming,Dave and Adrian's guitaring,and Bruce's vocals made it far better than this one.And in the live version,this song sounds a lot better than the studio version.And the instrumental too sounds better than Cradle's.
