its funny when obnoxious eminem and kid cudi fans try and say this is a kid cudi or eminem song HA! got nothing against em or cudder cuz theyre pretty dope but some fans truly know nothing about music haha
@sirpsychosexy19891 This was Simon & Garfunkel's "The Concert at Central Park". September 19, 1981. It was telecast live on HBO and I was one of those hoping they'd get back together soon after. Alas.....
why do these people compare everything to jusin beiber? I mean, I'm not a fan of beiber. But its music and everyone has their opinion. I'm going to listen to what I like, and I'm not about to worry about them being better. Enjoy the music. no need to put anyone down.
When this tune was #1 on The Billboard Pop Charts, Rapper ICE-T turned 18. I wonder, did he ever do a Rap tune to this song? If he didn't, he should have; It would've rocked.
@Atza56 yeah. This is one of the most famous concerts ever. More people attended this Simon and Garfunkel concert than people attended woodstock. This concert was in 1981. 500,000 people attended this concert. 400,000 people attended woodstock.

Wish I could thank Paul personally for this song. This song gave me the courage to leave a very abusive relationship. Nine years is too long. Thank you isn't enough. But thank you, man.
This song belongs to _Mr Steve Gadd. The groove is all here. It takes you to the music, in an out, from the start of the song till the end. One of the best drum grooves ever writen, from the drum God, Gadd.
@wildchild68ss i'm in my teens and love paul simon. You don't have to worry that all kids listen to crap pop music, me and my friends love the beatles, zeppelin, hendrix, etc. and other greats like this guy. and steve's drumming is incredible.
J'adore voir et écouter ces deux excellents guitaristes, assis discrètement derrière, alors qu'ils font un travail superbe tout au long du concert. <3
Great performance from Steve Gadd that moves me everytime. You can hear the crowd roaring at the end when he cuts loose on those drums like a stud at the end!
Just got tickets to see him on June 20th in Dublin. Yippee. Icon. Opportunity to re-visit all his compositions, and look forward to newly inspired Simon creations.
@GoldenRatioStella THE Concert at central park 1981. an estimated 500.000 people was in the crowd for this reunion concert. The whole concert is great and the setting is magical. They play Scarborough fair with twilight in the background. Well, it's just awesome! :)
I don't think you'll be able to find the whole concert online, but it can be bought cheap at amazon.
@larinaea Seems like that's the wrong way to understand the word "lover". In this song it means a partner. You're seeing as a cheating kinda thing. There's 50 ways to get out of a relationship that you don't wanna be in. Yes?
i heard this song while i was in a serious relationship... now im single and this song speaks to me more than ever..not that this song made me leave her but it was quite a catalyst
@TovarishGlushkov1 lol I mentioned it because Kid Cudi sampled this song in 50 Ways to make a record. Kid cudi is not contempory nor is he bullshit sir.

Also, It's not my mission to change anybody's musical tastes, but I will stand by the fact that gangsta rap has absolutely nothing on the timeless lyrical ballads of Paul Simon and art Garfunkel. But, in the interest of being civil and reasonable, i will always respect your opinion.
Well, let's see....the first song that comes up when you do a youtube search begins like this " I got 99 problems, and they all bitches". That tells me everything I need to know. Back in the day, music was not a vehicle for telling the rest of us how many bentley's you have at the McMansion, how much bling you have around your neck, or how the women you yourself objectify are the cause of all your problems. And last time I checked, that was gangsta rap.
@TovarishGlushkov1 Dude calm yourself down. 99 Problems, and they all bitches. Bitches is not referring to women. It's referring to things that just ignore you. You don't need to get a boner over defending Paul Simon and all the other classic artists. I'm just telling you that you're wrong when describing Kid Cudi as "gangsta rap". I'm not calling Paul Simon dumb, why are you shooting down Cudi?
@TovarishGlushkov1 ha search kid cudi and the first song that comes up is pursuit of happiness. if you want to hate Kid Cudi do it because he promotes weed and hapiness not because he is a "gangsta". listen to his lyrics please before you bash. i grew up on folk and old rock and this stuff from my parents but i love cudi and appreciate the creativity of his music
yep great gig. Love the way David Brown ( ex Joel) approaches the guitar solo. lots of players could learn a lot about phrasing from this. Like the way he does not overplay, and picks his notes carefully so not to interfere with the brass stabs. Great stuff!
They did sing Slip Slidin' Away and American Tune together at this concert. The concert was originally meant to be a solo Simon gig,and was hastily turned into a reunion gig,so the predominance of Simon solo songs is understandable.
