My '94 STS is faster...

I have a question.. I have a Dodge Dakota and when I go to race it as I'm gaining speed the speedometer don't keep up.. It'll stick at say 35 m.p.h and when the tranny shifts it jumps to 70.. is that just a bad speedometer cable? it does good when I'm just driving back and forth to work.

My father has a 2007 STS-V and you can't appreciate this car until you're actually in it. It is an outstanding vehicle, extreme luxury, extreme speed, extreme comfort and an amazing caddy in all with its HAND built engine. This is not CTS-V vette engine. Truely a great car!

It's probably 380-390 to the wheels.. Thats what cadillac rates it.

The xlr-v is rated at 443 and I had that dynoed and was around 370.

Also, a roll at 25mph isn't the best speed to show the power.

If you like the jeep, then I think it'll work for you. It's fast as hell and awd. It'll get through snow.. We had 22 inches early december and I got through it fine.

I have a RWD regular STS v8 and live in Western MA where there is both more snow and a very small plowing budget. Get snows and you'll be fine -- avoiding driving over mountains and whatnot.

Yea, it does look pretty slow. 469 is just the rating, it dyno'd just over 400, and the xlr-v dyno'd at 380, with a rating of 443hp.

If I give it all it has, it'll do 0-165 in no time. :)

I gunned it, wouldn't say put it to the floor. Usually it'll hit the 7k rpm mark.

Some one had asked for a video of 0-165, but that's risky to do and dangerous to record.

i dont even care without a doubt the best american made car 2 whip pd... the only things id rather whip r POSSIBLY a 760, A8, S550 or LS460... all the top of the line of each, and then it would still b a tough decision... but i mean i would take this ahead of an M5 anyday not even close, and a cts-v even though it faster the cts is 2 much of a girls car... STS is the last nice car cadillac makes other then the escalade but thats a truck

You're an idiot, if it's not ma V why does it have the supercharger whine of a STS-V, something that the regular 4.6 Litre V8 N* engines on the non STS-V models don't have.

hmmm i wonder why they detuned the engine in this car to 440 for the xlr.... maybe because of wait difference? lol i wish they put the ls9 straight outta the vette making full 638 hp into the new cts-v i think its dumb they detuned to 556 hp even with the full 640 it wouldnt touch the ZR1 i mean the cts weighs way more. oh well ill settle for a late 90s seville sts. im hopin to get a 96 for my first car maybe a 98.

I know this, and I don't own one: the power boost is an option in the message center, it was on a differnt screen. That and the supercharger whine didn't give that away?
