where did you get the stuff to connect it to the computer? I'm looking into seeing if I can upgrade a USB 1.0 8CH usb mixer to a USB 2.0 so I can multi track.
wow.....thats a LOT of point to point wiring!....excellent job dudes. I'm thinking of building a digital mixer for a college project. Its nice to see that the "home-made" factor is still alive and well in the USA
The vocals and drums were each on their own separate channel of the mixer. From their we can apply audio input gain, EQ, volume control, and mute for each channel. In this case, we "eliminated" the vocals by just simply muting the channel that the vocal was on. But all the other channels would still be playing since they were not muted.
wtf! that thing is the most badass build I've seen in ages! Great work guys!
I've been building a few Amps myself at home and my next project is to build my own mixer, I've been looking all over for info but cant find much at all. Can you send us the circuit diagram? or make a video on it...
I cant find info anywhere, and I just wanna build a simple 2 channel, just need an idea of how to go about it and how the circuits work.. It would be much appreciated.
The tracks came from an online mixing contest. You can still get the tracks by just googling "remember the name mixing contest". The site is ccmixter.
Very cool guys, congrats for doing it analog! I love your clear plastic case, that's a good way to attract attention to your project. Did you get good marks? Keep on dudes!
Yes I do have the circuit diagrams for each section within the channel strips and all the other stuff such as the mixing section, talkback mic, and LED dB meter.
I was able to download the individual tracks from that song and just played each of those tracks through different outputs of my audio interface from my computer to the inputs of the mixer. You can find and download the tracks for free still at some mixing competition website.
All the same color wire? Must be hard to track down any problems when making the connections.

Thanks. We got a lot of good remarks for this project... including getting 1st place out of all the other design projects in the EE department.
