The bassline in this remix is quite melancholy, and some of the lyrics including 'I'm still alive and cannot apologize' are sad. At a base level, Mirror's Edge is about running from violence and pain and trying to find something more liberating.

And as someone who's been deaf in one ear and then both (and I consider myself incredibly lucky that it was a temporary condition) I can say that being fully deaf is extremely different from being deaf in one ear.
