  • Thats not a snapper

  • even though the loggerhead has a larger head than the razorback the razorback is a cooler turtle

  • what was the size of him of this video ? i have a razorback but this loggerheads head is just hugh

  • @MaltLiquor40oz

I think the shell was 3 or 3 1/2 inches tip to tip. It's been a long time though.

  • musk turtles rarely bask 98% of the time is spent underwater on the bottom now this loggerhead is the biggest headed musk ive seen very nice

  • @MaltLiquor40oz When I was visiting the owner I thought it was weird he had no spot but I was assured he was fine. He was certainly healthy.

I'm not sure where they got him from.

  • I love it... they are super cool...!

  • dude your turtle needs a basking spot

  • yeah I got three musk turtles, they are still babies though but I <3 them very much and are worth getting

  • i had a bunch of them but the racoon ate all of them i fell sorry for them but the littlest one surved without any damages

  • 3 inches as an adult about 40 dollars then shipping

  • @ryanwood9932 Actually they get to be 4"-5.5". My 18 year old is slightly larger than 5". @TheTurtlelover09 No, these are not razorback musk, They're almost identical but without the tent like carapace or keels. It is indeed a loggerhead musk or Sternotherus minor to be exact.

  • its just a razorback musk

  • Lower the water level. They are not good swimmers and there she looks like she struggling swim up

  • erm, wow do some research.

  • Loggerheads are good swimmers. Youtube loggerhead turtle behavior and you will see them in a pond deeper than 4ft with no logs in sight.

they just need things to climb so they don't get too tired

  • how much is a loggerhead musk turtle?

  • I paid $80 for mine at a craft/trade fair.

  • I lower the water. Musk turtles tend to be very bad swimmers

  • People always say this, but I've got a pair of razorbacks and they've swum great since day one. Just because they often walk on the bottom doesn't mean they can't still shoot across the tank.

  • I just bought one of these over the weekend. very cool little guy. 5.5 inches is the max size, and they can live with other fish. they do bite, but aren't snapping turtles. Nice thing about these guys is they don't need much basking area, they can pretty much stay in water all the time. he's a nice addition to my Koi tank.

  • lol its liek a mini less pissy common snapping turtle

  • Also they might not bite you if you are with them a long time.

  • yeah but still you should always have a basking spot just in case

  • how much is a loggerhead musk turtle?

  • I agree musk turtles are probably the best tank turtles. They're like owning a little dinosaur

  • pls put some sand in the tank or make the ground black.

  • You dont need stuff for it to dig in. It just makes the tank freaking harder to clean.

Loggerheads pretty much are the same as common musks at least in looks.

  • They DO need sand and plants to dig in or hide.

If you really care about the turtle you try everything to keep it species-appropriate. You should think about the work that comes with buying an animal BEFORE you buy it.

  • Hey! Where is some ground into which it could dig itself? I'm sure it would love to do it!

  • Very great!!!

  • Can somebody please tell me where I can buy one of loggerhead musk turtle. I world really appreciate it.

  • um, loggerhead farms may sell them, look them up on google

  • was it fun 2 look after?

  • how big do they get and how much did you pay for it?

  • It belongs to a friend. I don't know how much he paid, but as far as the size I think that's pretty much as big as they get.

  • aaa thats cool turtle wish they had them loacally lol

  • LOL, annie you need to get your turtle species' facts straight...3-5" is pretty much tops for this musk turtle species. This is NOT a "snapping turtle".

    theyre so adorable. huguhguhg

  • I know! I love it's shell! It's soo cute!

I do have 2 red eared sliders and 1 common snapping turtle

  • those turtles are FUCKING BEATIFULL!!

  • your welcome! thanks for posting! (:

    jude

  • im curious as to why you call it a "snapping turtle" though in your intro. musk turtles arent in the same family as snappers. great video though. i own a stinkpot but would love to have a loggerhead

  • I didn't know that :) I don't own any turtles myself. Thanks for the info.

  • While not a true "snapping turtle," musks and snappers are pretty closely related.

  • what does it eat? cute little guy (or gal)

  • very nice tutle are they rare?

  • No, I've seen them all the time in our little freeze-your-butt-off creeks in Florida, both Razorbacks and Loggerheads. All it takes is Bologna, some string, and about five minutes before you see them ^^
