I went to his house once and he came up driving a horse pulling a wagon full of bamboo.This was about 1988 but it seemed like 1888.Othar lived a simple primitive life, very real.

Just attended the Otha Turner Family Picnic. Good food, good people, good music! They welcomed me just as if I was a long-time neighbor. Everyone should put his on their "to do" list.

otha died in 2004 or 2005 while i lived in memphis. i think his family still plays.
