Argentine navy was in no way prepared to face a SSN. THe "Belgrano" was part of a big naval action against the RN, but after it was sunk it become clear that our main naval component (the carrier and it´s group) couldn´t deal with that threath.
THat´s why they concentrate the actions against the RN on the air force, and why the fleet stayed in litoral waters, not in port.
Without questions, sending more surface units would´ve being suicide, and an unnecessary lost of lives with no clear resoults. Put the "heroic" bullshit aside when it comes to this point.
Our lack of more SSK (aganst which you were not very prepared neither: ours operated but with no resoults) and ASM could´ve made a difference, but that´s part of the stupidity of how it was planned and conducted.

Las dos veces fui en Primavera (Marzo-Abril) entonces no sufri el calor, pero el Grand Canyon era friisimo.

I think the measure of the victory is important, it is important for future planning and assessing the capabilities of opponents. I presume you know the reasons the Argentines came so close to winning so I won't lecture on those.
I never denied the victory was amazing, but we could at least be magnanimous and British in victory, not jingoistic and bigoted. I am not a suck up for the opponent's philosophy, I am completely in denial of their rights to the islands. But I am not jingoistic.

Argentine navy was in no way prepared to face a SSN. THe "Belgrano" was part of a big naval action against the RN, but after it was sunk it become clear that our main naval component (the carrier and it´s group) couldn´t deal with that threath.
THat´s why they concentrate the actions against the RN on the air force, and why the fleet stayed in litoral waters, not in port.

Without questions, sending more surface units would´ve being suicide, and an unnecessary lost of lives with no clear resoults. Put the "heroic" bullshit aside when it comes to this point.
Our lack of more SSK (aganst which you were not very prepared neither: ours operated but with no resoults) and ASM could´ve made a difference, but that´s part of the stupidity of how it was planned and conducted.

one other country (new Zealand) played a small part in this conflict which isnt widely known, NZ loaned the Brits SAS troops and sent 2 frigates to patrol the indian ocean so that the brit frigates could be dispatched to the south atlantic, NZ was the only country to offer the UK assistance should it be needed, NZ also purchased two ex falkland vet leander class frigates HMS Dido/HMNZS Southland F104 and HMS Bacchante?HMNZS Wellington F69.

I would check 3:37 and 3:46 then if I were you. 3:37 is of the type 23 "HMS Westminster", launched in 1991. Not sure about the other one, but it is without a shadow of a doubt a type 23. And Hermes hasn't been in service with the Royal Navy for years and years. I think she was sold to the Indian navy or something, or maybe even scrapped.

Well, the Falklands war places your case wrong. Oh and Sierra Leone. Also the Malaya emergency, northern Ireland..... The listb goes on. BUt lets take the Falklands war. A conflict 8000 miles away from British soil close to the Argentine coastline (where they could have used there airforce) and we won. They had more troops, equiptment, and less of a logistical nightmare and we won.

We did lose more in equipment, but thats to be expected, our equipment cost more and we were fighting thousands of miles from home ports. the important point is who won and at what cost in lives.

Bueno despues de todo esta es mi simple opinion, no quiero dividirme con la gente solo quiero decir que yo creci en la Patagonia y yo sufri la guerra de Malvinas en ese tiempo vivi en Rio Gallegos, Pcia de Santa Cruz y los que sepan de geografia estamos muy cerca de Las Malvinas, senti la guerra muy de cerca aunque solo tenia 6 anios escuchaba en la escuela que eramos un target para los Ingleses y me re cagaba de miedo perder a mi familia. La guerra es mala y sucia

Ricardo, en que parte de Arizona vivis? Yo estuve alli dos veces. En Tucson, El Parque Nacional del Saguaro, Phoenix, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon y Monument Valley. Sitios con una belleza increible. Las dos veces fui en Primavera (Marzo-Abril) entonces no sufri el calor, pero el Grand Canyon era friisimo.
