  • why this fish is known as red tail its tail is white and black

    not red

  • When they get larger, their tail goes red in colour.

  • hi can i ask u something??? Can I put my red tail at my arrowana tank(contains of Hujeta Gar,Bichir??

  • I would think it would eat the bichir given time but as for the others, I don't know. It depends on size of fish really. They will eat anything they can.

  • @babyboikit mines in with my aro

  • is it okay to keep a redtail catfish along with a teacup stingray? someone comment or pm me. thanks

  • I would imagine so but I will pass as we don't generally deal with fish larger than an oscar.

  • hello i need so help with my red tail catfish hey about 2 months old and his losing his whiskers is this normal and something else plz help

  • It is usually from the catfish rubbing them off on gravel substrate. Sand is the best base for a tank with catfish. If you have sand already, maybe the tank is too small? and the fish is rubbing whiskers up and down the sides?

  • Nice fish, man. Hope the owner knows his stuff.

  • Thats why we only special order large fish - we need to check that they can look after them.

  • There are always people that take pleasure in making unsolicited negative remarks, pay no attention. I think your fish look very healthy and you are obviously doing a great job. I enjoy watching your videos very much and thank you for posting them.

  • Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoy my videos. I'm going to try to split them up into categories on playlists to make them more accessible as there are hundreds scattered about the channel.

I don't worry about tools making spam - I just block them.

  • Nice catfish!

At the comments about his tanks not being clean look at his other videos. Perfectly clean tanks.

  • I'm not a lover of the large catfish, so we don't stock them - this is for a customer order. I had to remove some comments about 'dirty tanks' as they were just plain moronic. A little algae on a tank glass and gravel in a tank which is used for temporary housing of ordered fish (not for public sale) isn't the end of the world so I'm not sweating on it. I just blocked the most ignorant people (possibly both the same guy with different accounts) so no worries. Thanks for watching, man.

  • @pondguru I too like the smaller cats better.

Algae sometimes is a good thing.

  • Yeah, we have a policy of not stocking tankbusters - this was a customer order. I much prefer dwarf cats. A bit of algae on a stock tank won't give me a heart attack either. Uneaten food, dead fish etc. now that would be a worry......

  • @pondguru Do you ever get any other mosnter fish?

  • As policy, we don't stock large fish as too many are not looked after properly and it would be irresponsible of us to supply them to many people. I wish that they were restricted or banned from importing to be honest.

We do get the odd large species such as tiger shovelnose in for people who do have very large tanks but will never stock species bigger than oscar or silver shark.

  • @pondguru So you only get them if they're special ordered?

  • Yes, as we need to be sure that the customer can look after them properly.

  • @pondguru That's Awesome.

SOme LFS just sell these to people to make a quick buck.

  • IMHO, they should clean those tanks!!!! Nothing deters customers more than dirty tanks.

  • @XSVaquascaper

i agree, thats one of the first things i look at when i but fish

  • I presume you mean when you buy fish. So it should be. The bottom tanks are hardly ever used - only for the odd fish that won't go in with normal stock. i.e. for predatory fish which have already been sold. The main stock tanks are cleaned religiously every week with a water change also as they are for selling from and always have fish in. Thanks for watching.

  • It is cleaning day today. A bit of surface algae on the glass and gravel doesn't make a dirty tank, man. Check out the hundreds of other videos from the shop to see what the tanks are normally like. We hadn't used the few tanks in that row for a few weeks, hence the build up of algae.

Also, please think before you add all those exclaimation marks as it makes you look like a dong.
