You have a good stuff. A few things to be cautious of. 1) Major clear path to EXITS your stand need to relocate easy fix 2). two many lights at once can be to much, cycling through lights and styles of music will create mood and save lights. 3). truss for that venue ok for what you described as entrance but lighting using a light bar taller even if on stands will get the lights higher for that venue size. lastly Safety Counts enjoy.
This is such a bad setup the dj should be between all the PA and underneath the lighting as the audience should look at you and get blinded by the light :)
@dave98013 Because this particular setup isn't meant for dance floor effects.. if you notice the center is open... this is used for Grand Entrances... so when people walk through, their surrounded by lights.
@DjLEATH3R Thanks... Its impossible to make it darker because the venue was allowing me to set up and test equipiment during business hours, so I had to be done and packed up by 5pm. Its a hall where both sides are nothing but big windows with no blinds, drapes, or anything else to block the sun. As far as syncing the lights to the sound... I wasn't into DMXing my lights when I made this video, so they were all set on sound activation.
@127raf No, this is a local venue that allowed me to use their area to test out new equipment. But I had to be done by 5p.m. so I couldn't make a video after the sun went down, hence all the lighting in the building. This room use to be a roller skating rink.
@ZJentertainment Its global truss. But its the Mini truss System1. Its about $700 and measures 8X8. you can add 1 1/2' to each side, and up to 5' on the top truss and still be safely within the limits due to the floor plates. I can hang on it and swing and it doesn't move. And its very light.
@ZJentertainment if you check out the main video on my youtube channel, you'll see it with the extra 3 pieces of truss I ordered. its 10' tall and 13' wide.
@ELPINGU3051 I bought the truss for $700 brand new. its 8'X8' Its called the Global Truss System 1. I also bought (2) 1 1/2' extender pieces for the sides, and a 5' extender piece for the center so it measures 9 1/2' tall X 13' wide (which is the max it should be extended according to their engineers) All together I paid around $1100
@ELPINGU3051 I've had it for a few years now and the only issue I've had was operator error. The pin's are tapered, but I didn't realize at first that the connectors are also tapered, so when you put it together, make sure your matching the holes up properly when connecting them, otherwise you'll find yourself going to town with a hammer. If you do this, somethings wrong or not alligned right.
@seansy59 I would put my subs together and get the extra 3db's, but then the main's would have to be put on the floor and the high's wouldn't be above head level. I traded these speakers for a crotch rocket about a month ago anyway. lol
@americaneagle792 "that's what I thought" ?? Thats your well thought out comeback to my response that I'd like to see you post a video to back up your rude comments on here? lol alright!
how could you look like a moron if your a engineer? You should have all that technology down pact by now. Everyone that reads this is waiting on a video so we can see how its suppose to be done right.... appearently. lol
@americaneagle792 Depends on the event, type of people attending the event, and amount of people at that event. Not every gig needs to sound like a night club. I do prefer to have just a bit more low's than mids and highs, but i don't normally DJ events where an overkill of bass is needed.
@americaneagle792 I agree it doesn't sound like there's any low's on at all. Also take into some concideration of the accoustics in this hall. its a HUGE hall with wood floors, cement walls, and high wooden ceilings. there's nothing to stop the High's from bouncing around...your voice echo's when you talk in it.
@americaneagle792 I wasn't exactly using a professional grade camera when I made this video. The subs work just fine and produce an adequate amount of bass.
@Vi3tKid420 Thanks! I know what you mean. Alot of DJ's bring 1 of each style lights to some of their gigs. I always use 2 of each (Except for the big one on top in the center...VUE III by Chauvet). Makes it look even.
@raindropdjs everything is LED except for the 4 scanner's. I have a updated video if you want to see my full setup thats all LED (including my black lights)
@RoteKampfSocke No there's no issues at all with the Derby's on the ground. They also make a cool background effect if you put it facing up against a wall.
Looks Amazing! love the combo of LED/Halogen. One suggestion, I would put the facade/table under the truss to close that open gap, OR put a DJ screen shooting live video there! Looks Amazing though!
@generationstationdj The reason I didn't have my dj booth set up under this truss was because the bride/groom wanted to see if it could be used as their entrance point of their grand march... so it had to be set up so they could walk under it. Look at my main profile page and see the set up with the screen.. thats how I normally use it.
@CescoValga For Sound: I use OtsAV through my laptop, Behringer mixer, DBX driverack, 3500w peavy amp for my 18" harbinger subs, QSC RMX2450 amp for my JBL JRX100's. I also you powered Behringer B215A speakers for my smaller setups. Lighting in this vid i have 2 Starballs, 2 Chauvet Intimidator 1.0s, 1 VUEIII, 2 ADJ 250's, 4 ADJ p36's, 2 DerbyX's, and 1 Scorpion RGX laser. the truss is from global truss. its the system1 mini truss.
@alfman111 I added 2' to the height and 5' to the width of this setup yesterday. I'm going to put the sound rig behind the truss sides so it doesn't hide my uplighting, and also helps hold the bases down... I'll post a vid within the next few days.. keep your eyes out and tell me what you think.
