keith richards' favorite stones album is "some girls"........mine too. if you look at the influence of that album on rock genre at the time, that album was tops.
Voodoo Lounge, in my opinion it's the greatest album of theirs. Covers all ranges of the musical and emotional spectrum. This song in particular arises a great deal of emotion in myself.
@gleetron Voodoo Lounge (1994) is a very good album by the Stons but it doesn't really match their heyday at the end of the sixties and the dawn of the seventies.
Ubuntu remembers the first time he fell in love...and was rejected. That chicken just wasn't into UBUNTU. This song made it all better. Ubuntu knows there are more chickens out there to peck on Ubuntu's pecker. UBUNTU
This song is great, yet it's only about the fifth best song on this album, so, therefore, it's a great album. I'd say that cracks21229's comment is spot on, and that this was a good album -- as good as anything released in 1994. Best ever Stones album? No. But I'd say it's damn close to the best. The Rolling Stones deserve credit for being very good and relevant for 40-plus years now. That's otherwise unheard of in this business.
For all those who have loved and lost ... this song reaches inside of you and pulls out the feelings completely. The words, the music ... simply a masterpiece.
who said mick was never a ballad singer where have u been i can name many off the top of my head and they did awsome stuff in the 60s u had to be good to make it in those times not like now all u need is a pretty face who cares what the music sounds like
buyed this album on tape il 1994, I was goin at school. what a fuck of long time! anyway, this is a great album. I don't give a damn if sticky fingers or brown sugar was better or not. this is a great album.
I bought this CD when it came out in 94 for my dads 41st b-day. He was a huge Stones fan, and it helped me to gain an appreciation for the band. This song has much more meaning to me today with the passing of my father earlier this year from brain cancer. Thank you for posting this video.
The Rolling Stones are a little better than Elvis, William... Mick didn't make me, Fred and that Aubrey with his cloning devices now how are we going to make dinosaur eggs with dinosaur fetus blood?
Yes, this is a great ballad. The Stone can't be judged against what they were in the 60's. That's like comparing a '68 Covette with some nice newer model. The '68 is a classic. But that doesn't make the newer car not good. This song stands up, musically speaking, against anything else coming out in '94. Voodoo was a good album. Great? No, but good.
Hard to judge this song. They are trying real hard on this one. This came out 16 years ago and at the time it came out the band was about 12 years over the hill. I would like to remember the Stones when they had something left and not when they were just trying to keep it going.
Perfect ballad. Perfect video. I'm not even a big fan of the Rolling Stones. But this one is surely something special. One of my favorite all-time songs. Damn.... I wish I could cry these days.... seems I've been "out of tears" for 7 years. It ain't right.
Hm...Mick here looks almost EXACTLY like Eric (not Draven) from the original novel. Not the least of which beacause of him sitting by a window in a dark apartment.
Ronnie is also an very good slide-guitar player.I have such an compassion with Ron,his reputation of gentelman is a bit destroyed the last months. He is such an nice and wonderful person.
I wore this out when it first came out! Going through a divorce and being all pathetic and shit. That all passed and now I cant believe I was ever even sad over the whole thing.this is still a great song though!
LOL Im separated and I wear this song out time and again but hell it keeps me strong and makes it easier for me to go forward in the morning one day i will look back and laugh at myself hehe!
