Great advice! I never thought to shut off filming between shots, so this is a great idea for more professional looking video & it keeps the audience from being nauseated by fast zooms & pans (something else I do too fast, practice makes perfect). Like he said, the software does NOT matter since your camcorder should come with its own or your computer OS may. What matters is making every second of film count, be clear & focused, plan out your shots for most interest.
