if you are interested in not only barbel fishing but everything else please go onto my channel and watch the trailer to my up and coming angling series called wet lines thanks
i wanna start with barbel fishing. what fishing rod do i need? carp? feeder? i saw pva funnel webs so i think you use a carp system but what bait do you guys use? in holland they use cheese. and my last question where can i catch them? not in a canal or something right???
A light carp and feeder rod 1.75 - 2.25 TC coupled with 10-12LBS line is just right for barbel fishing, fast flowing rivers are the best places to target, and carp type pellets such as halibut work very well but the best are elips pellets for hookbait.

" the hardest fighting fish that swims in UK waters"
Go and catch a mullet on coarse tackle then you'll amend that statement.
