Sorry, PakistaniShaheen, but I'm afraid that you're mixing Altay people (i.e. an ethnic group called Altay) and Altaic languages (i.e. linguistic family named after the Altay mountains). Just look at Wikipedia, for instance.
@Alexey6759 Замечательно. Только вот со спутника как посмотрел на Ср. Азию - Каспий нормально смотрится, а от Аральского моря... ничего не осталось. Жаль чрезвычайно. Музыкальный ряд замечательный.
Thanks for this video. This video looks much more believable than most of the Turkish nationalist and Euro centric inspired video propaganda here on Youtube and elsewhere. 5 stars, but the Russian officer @ 6:17 doesn't seem to fit in with the presentation of the native people of Siberia subjugated under the Russian Federation.
On 6:17 you just see a most known Tuvinian in the Russia - Sergey Shoygu, the Russian Minister of Emergency. )
Subjugation surely isn't a proper word here. Buryats during the age of Russian dominance began with 27.000 people and finished with more than 300.000. Tuvinians twice had an independent state, but twice (in 1914 and 1944) have voluntary joined Russia. South Siberian folks don't lose a thing in modern Russia, except a formal independence (but have a highest possible autonomy).
I see ^.^ so Sergey Shogyu, obviously a Tuvanian surname must have mixed Tuvan and Russian ethnic parentage..
It's true native Americans suffered the worst of native cultures and ethnicities.. I think Siberian natives especially those further south like Buryats, Tuvans and Yakuts because of their inherited old world contact with warfare and diseases, most notably during the period between the GokTurk/TangDynasty and Seljuk/Yuan Dynasty periods.
sorry.. I posted before i finished.. i was saying people like the Buryats, Tuvans and Yakuts were much bettered conditioned and hardened against the "European invasion", than the native Americans.
Russian names among Tuvans are quite common, especially among them who was born in the Soviet age. The mother of Shoygu really isn't Tuvan (Russian or Ukrainian, I suppose), but in fact both Russians and Tuvans consider himself as a Tuvan, so it isn't something of great importance after all.
Well, it depends in the first place on members of these folks... We could only slightly influence that at the best. ) Ethnic processes are very difficult and still cannot be completely explained by the science.
I must also notice that the Russian culture itself also needs help. The Russian people is in critical situation too; it also loses its traditional culture, millenial moral norms, loses even its religion etc.
Yes, most likely. The part 3 is necessary anyway. As for part 4 - that's also possible, but it would be difficult to compete with Thejinan in describing of North Siberian folks... :)

P.S.: I believe, it is enough to compare the historical fortunes of these folks and of American Indians in the USA - that is a harsh contrast...

I agree. Some of the Kalmyks went back to Manchu controlled China. Djorkaef, the French footballer who won the 1998 worldcup, is half Kalmyk.

No doubt. The Russian culture is in danger rather than all others. It has almost vanished by now.
