I enjoy the original more, but not much more; the song lends itself to a blinding vulnerability and I don't think it's unfair to say Kelly Clarkson possess the voice and talent to convey this. I don't like anything this woman has done, but the power behind this song is undeniable. Maybe she's painting the same picture as The Black Keys, but she's still painting a pretty one, just with a different brush. Good cover.
There is literally no redeeming quality to her take on this song. It doesn't hold a candle to the original, and isn't sufficiently different to stand on its own. Boo, Kelly Clarkson, boo on you.
