I don't know that I could make this one any longer; the backing track was created by someone else (not me) and I don't think he has a longer version, and I would have to convince him to make it longer for me. He's a pretty busy guy so I doubt it would happen. (I wouldn't want to bug him, knowing how busy he is these days.) But... Hopefully more good songs like this coming in the future! Cheers!

To this one I could listen for hours, well I think I even did, one is simply carried away by it. Well this has been an guitar contest, but nevertheless: the best entry, definitely. :-) Superb technique and, more important: lots of feeling!

The first 45 seconds are absolutely hauntingly beautiful. That slow measured pace, fits whistling very well.

After that it becomes a bit faster, and I think it looses a bit of the haunting quality, but it's still good.

And the ending, is that a bit of Andreas Vollenweiter influence I hear there ?

You should look up the Doky Brothers then. It's two brilliant danish Jazz musicians.

They've made some instrumental pieces of just themselves, but they get even better when they partner up with someone else. Especially when they partner up with a singer.

You should try a search for Marc Seal (guitar tutor) he made some cd a few years ago containing backing tracks for guitarists - one for blues, one for metal, and some other stuff as well as his own compositions - that I like to noodle along to on the guitar when I get the chance

Honestly, whistling is very limited compared to guitar though, in terms of how fast one can hit notes in succession...
