I've been a tube guy forever, but I'm not a modelling hater. I think it has its place, especially for recording.
But I tried this amp, and I didnt like it. Just tried the HD500 pedal yesterday (See? I keep giving them a chance), & didn't like that one either (but it gets 1 more chance).
Why do they insist on putting those rotary light dial things on their stuff, that change all your settings when you touch one? ...especially Spyder the amp, floored me with the lame design.. and 4 models? Cmon.
oh my god how hard can it be? marshall amp 1 hour tweaking? just crank it full blast and melt face.. this amp is practical but c'mon, it's not that hard to handle a marshall and get a decent sound easy..
i love how people say "go get a tube amp" most of would like to but in order to actually get a decent tube amp you have to put out like 1000 dollars. not every person has that to throw down. besides you can practically throw this out your window and it would still work. it you put a tube amp down wrong you break the tube. just sayin
I have a Spider III 30 as my "First" amp. Good amp, I went "Amp" shopping and if you want an Amp thats easy that gives you good close sound this is it. Peavy has one I looked at that was the same price as the Spider and it had barley any bass, was very garbled and just wasn't worth it at all. This is from some who's only been playing guitar for 1 year though.
Yup, it was rather one of their old Rectifier sounds from the Chaosphere/DEI age and before i guess. But it had definately NOTHING to do with I, Catch 33 or Nothing.
I have a line 6 Spider II 112 (75 watt). It has a lot of power but like some people say the presets arn't the best. I guess it depends which guitar you use as well, but you can definantly hear how its not a true valve amp as you can't control the amount of gain/distortion by turning down your guitar like you can with a mg marshall or something like that.
dont!!!!! get a flexitone or a nice vox amp! i thought this would be a great amp, but it sucks. it sounds pretty bad, and the presets suck sooo bad they're not accurate, and a lot of them sound the same!
no, the flexitone is made by line6. what im saying is that the spider amps aren't very good. i bought this on impulse, and didnt listen to the tone before i got it. when i got home with it i was like wow, its soo overated.
The artist who they interviewed are so full of shit. IF they can get the sound they want from this spider why is it they dont use it one stage? And its not that hard to dial in a sound from a marshall
This dude has to piss real bad

For everyone that wanna start with electric guitar, try a Roland Cobe amp!

pretty nice amps, but not for a loud loud live performance.....
i only used my line 6 as a practice amp since it works really well on a clean setting.
