  • I still sing this song to myself every now and then. Hilarious!!'

  • @akeldama931 I always preferred salmon :D

  • Oh god. What a horrible period - white people rapping. Black people rapping was horrible and idiotic enough. Atari was SO much better than this.

  • Even this is better than xbox...

  • Ahhhhhhhhh!!!

Those days must have been good!

No repetitive Cod`s! Just simple, fun, and awesome games!

  • WAIT ! Is that a Flat screen moniter in 0.06 from the 80's !!!

  • OMG I JUST SHIT MY PAAAAAAAAAAAANTS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is cool

i wasnt even around in the 80s but still i think the 80s are awesome

  • oh wow i so remember this....

  • Holy crap!!! I remember this one!!!!

  • Lol, the Atari 5200 and 7800 sucked so much that they tried to remarket the 2600.

  • Please take me back to 1987=)

  • When Nintendo made the NES and SEGA were making the MasterSystem, they must have been rubbing their hands together lol. Still, commodore 16+4 was where it's at, 2600 is too new school.

  • from uh-ta-ri

  • I see why Atari went out of business...

  • Catchy

  • Biff tanan?

  • Better rap than lil wayne

  • Man that controller was the WORST, talk about hand cramps, lol.

  • Omg I'm getting that atari

  • i rember this commercial from when i was a kid!!!

  • queria te vivido nessa epoca

  • most whitest commercial EVER

  • Lmao. So old man

  • 0:07

He put the cartridge in backwards.

The label is supposed to face away from the console.

  • 50 bucks....what a rip off!!

  • EPIC FAIL

  • It would probably cost 50 bucks to buy a mint one now...

  • @giantsean for mint in box, itd proably cost much more than that.

  • 0:05 flatscreen O_o

  • This commercial is very fun

  • @FPDood COD sucks? They fcking milk our money

  • @indyice16 lol u play to much on ur lame console

  • Just imagine this get a time machine and travel back in the 80's and bring your PS3 and 20 games with it and see how many people from the 80's would be amazed and shit their pants.

  • We'll all laugh at the 360 20 years from now

  • Wait, did they say an Atari 2600 cost under $50 back then?! And now adays a Call of Duty game is $60?!?! Excuse me while I go kill myself...

  • @FPDood Inflation.

  • @FPDood the dollar bill had more value back then than today.

  • this sounds like the Super mario Bros super show intro O.o?

  • Halo 2600...... Yes there really is.

  • battle field 2600

  • Grand theft auto 2600

  • Assassins Creed 2600

  • Call of duty 2600

  • I remember this commercial! too bad the 2600 wasn't popular anymore by the time this commercial aired

  • @AbuBishir Of course it wasnt popular, thats why they made the ad. They needed to get rid of the 2600 thousand they had left in the warehouses.

  • @bazfanv2

No, it was a new version that was smaller and cheaper to make.

  • @Marshallj25 like sony did with the ps2-3

  • under $50=$49.99

  • the two young kids are probably pushing 40 now.. hanging around their apartment, sharing a blunt while they play Madden. /the fate of Generation x/

  • @GeorgeWashingtonX, why play Madden when you can play old school Combat on Atari with a friend while smoking a nice phatty and have just as many laughs. Just hooked my Atari back up in the garage a few months back. Works as well as it did 25 years ago.

  • Just hooked my Atari 2600 back up in my garage along side my Genesis. Now Im gonna go out and get a 7800.

  • good advert!i´ve never watched it!

  • show them cod and a 360 or ps3 and they will get a heart attack lol

  • @BoyArmor You can't compare Call of doody to this!

It was the 80's and they didn't have the overrated FPS known as Call of doody back then, they just had this and it was awesome for their time (and still is today).

Seriously it's time for you to understand there was something BEFORE call of doody.

  • @KilleRotom ok what the hell does call of duty have to do with a Atari i mean i cant even look at old school gameing stuff with out seeing COD hate all the kid was saying is how much games have changed i love the old school stuff sometimes fun to look up and see people loveing 8 bit but he's right get someone from the 1980's a 360 theyed cry with joy

  • @wolfzero85 and then 1 month later after it redring'd or the dvd stopped working, they would be so sad, because they would have to wait 25 years to have microsoft fix it :(

  • @BoyArmor, if I knew back then how bad your generations music would be I would of had a heart attack.

  • RETROID now for iPhone/iPad OMG!

  • The $50 before i the $300 now

  • @aupian94

that makes a ps3 or 360 now, DAMN

  • he put game in backwards at 7 seconds

  • Comment removed

  • good for them, no cod, just the classics

  • Under $50! good lord! The Atari 2600 is cheap!!!

  • Loneliness...

  • actually,i think that ad was for the 2600 jr. correct me if i'm wrong

  • From A TAR REE hahhah

  • 0:11 "to cause that whore" ???

  • @TheFishboneX - No, "...to cars that roar", but I like yours better.

  • $50 in the mid-1980s was alot of money in those days

  • That is one bad-ass straight from the ghetto hard-core rap song

  • @Dreammotive Jay-Z is doing a remix of it.

  • @Dreammotive The rhymes are chillin ice cold

  • cant wait for atari 3000! thumbs up if you agree

  • It's got a special price. Under fifty bucks, FIFTY BUCKS?! Now isn't that nice. No it's nice. It's gay. lol I remember making fun of this commercial back when I was in school.

  • dont copy that floppy...

  • Lol even Crysis costs less than that console.

  • @zukodude487987 crysis sucks, atari rules

  • @shairaptor Im not a real fan of crysis too, but im talking about the effects of moorse law.

  • The Hardware was a POS and cheaply made. Compared to the old wood-grain.

  • oh crap this song is gonna get stuck in my head

  • Comment removed

  • the games are outstanding, the ads are extreamy gay.

  • They should re release the 2600 and use this commercial. The fun is back for the second time, It's the 2600 and I ain't liein.

  • This was the redesigned 2600, released in 1985. The original 2600 retailed for $200.00.

  • Holy... crap! I actually remember this commercial! Kind of annoying, actually.

  • $50! I want one =P

  • BEST SCREEN CAPS = 0:14, 0:25

  • Solaris was the best game for the 2600

  • Let a friend borrow my Atari and when I joined the Navy he threw it away. Stupid asshole!

  • This is the catchiest Atari commercial in history

  • "Under 50 bucks" just tell me the damn price FFS

  • Kaz Hirai watched this and committed hara-kiri

  • Wait a minute. At 0:06 I see the display is a TFT. TFTs didn't exist until the late 1980s, and they were extremely expensive, and attached to laptops.

  • damn wish nvr sold my 2600 and games :(

  • Someone should go back in the future and take and Xbox, wii and a playstation and see there faces of what there missing!

  • @Nintendo645222 - Someone should come back from 2036 with some of their entertainment systems and see your face!

  • HAVE YOU PLAYED ATARI TODAY?

  • The Pinball game that thry show is not Video Pinball, it's Pinball for the NES... :P

  • @flexyldy

Actually it's 'Midnight Magic' Pinball by Broderbund, and yes, it's a 2600 game.

  • @MrCorporalTunnel My mistake! It looks so advanced for 2600.

  • So.... Cheesy.... *CRIIIINGE*

  • "Under 50 bucks! 50 bucks?!?" They already got it -___-

  • why are they suprised from price when they already the console?

  • WHY CAN'T I STOP LISTENING TO IT?!?

  • @Usernamehere1235 because its amazing! xD

  • @Usernamehere1235 because it's better than the music that's on the radio XD

  • i wanna smack the guy whos singing this bullshit ...

  • This wasn't the original Atari. The commercial came out in 1986 in response to the NES introduction to the US market. They redesigned and released the "Atari Jr." for under $50, hoping to stay competitive.

  • under $50 my ass....

but geting the Atari greatest hit collection in a shape of the 2600 for $30 at my local ingles store. yes

  • I wounder what would happend if you give them Battlefield 3............

  • The beginning of the big video game crash. Other Atari systems would sell worth crap and the 2600 was very long in the tooth.

  • wagon christ sampled it in "the funnies"

  • This is when there term bucks was used you know back in the day with hood now all you hear is here give me that dollar or it cost 20 dollars

  • I was unaware that the fun had left

  • That don't rhyme too good.

  • i got an Atari 2600 today... $60 :\

  • oh god i memorized this rap when the commercial was playing back in the day. i even rapped it to my friends -__-;

  • I remember this commercial. I went to the store and it was $49.99.

  • @tpsu129 I'm so glad that they marked it down. I would NOT be able to afford that extra one cent. WAAAAAAAAAAY too much money.

  • @tpsu129 under 50 bucks!

  • I remember when the Atari 2600 retailed for 300 bucks brand new.

  • NICE SONGS 50 PACKS LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • you know whats weird... the youtube ad had bad quality a catchy rap for a videogame system and then........there was no video. someone tell me what's goin on!

  • That rap is really catchy :)

  • still have this, but i cant play bcuz i lost the cables =(

  • i just got mine going today first time since i was 6 or 7 and its mint

  • Classic!

  • 0:32 to skip ads

  • this commercial has been stuck in my brain since i was 4.

  • Under fifty bucks! Fifty bucks?!?!?

    Now isn't that nice!?

    ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!

  • rap was so simple back in those days

  • ....oh yeh maddafakka!

  • I can tell you that everything is cheaper in the U.S.A. If you live in Sweden a new 3DS costs about 160 dollars more(our dollar price) or 1000 kronor as we call it.

    In Sweden: 1 dollar=6 kronor.

  • Back then these games were really new and that is why they were so good. Today you may think they only make crappy games. The truth is the games they make today are excellent. We are just getting older and today's games don't thrill us as much as the old games did back then. If they made a new Mario and it was like Mario 1 for the NES it would bore the hell out of me eventhough I loved it back then. It's not the new games that sucks. It is the fact we are getting used to shit we once lived for.

  • @MoralityIsAReligion yea i agree with you in a way. We get older and it's all "seen it, done it, yawn".

and since we are not kids anymore our view in life is different and we like different things and see the world differently.

my newphew got mario bros 3 on the wii. And he really likes it. Reminds me when i was a kid :).

but i dunno games just doesn't seem like they did when we were younger. I mean for one the games back then seemed more challenging. and runnning out of space to type :(.

  • @bubbaXzone

Well back then there were only a few freaks playing these games and they were created by freaks for freaks if you know what I mean. Today they are a mass product which means there are a lot of releases that are just plain boring. But there are still some pretty good releases today. I.e. Fallout 3 or Anno 1404. Both relatively deep games. There is just a lot of trash you need to get out of the way before finding the good games today.

  • video games cost 50 dollars today

  • @TheDefiantSquirrel

    eehh, you mean 125 dollars.

  • @wimse10 video games not video game systems

  • @TheDefiantSquirrel

Yes, video games like call of duty or battlefield.

They should usualy cost about 125 dollars.

    Don´t they?

  • @TheDefiantSquirrel Just Wii games. PS3 and Xbox 360 games cost 60.

  • Haha, I remember this tune! ;-p

  • i sold an boxed atari 2nd hand for over 50 bucks so its profitable to

  • I just bought the E.T Extra-Terrestrial... my dick is smaller now

  • It's amazing that the old Atari sold well into the 1990's, considering how primitive the graphics were.

  • @pardyhardly dude, it sold well because there weren't that good technology that we have nowadays, think about it

  • @jonathanmanuelmusa That's not correct. The Atari 2600 sold well even after the NES and Sega Genesis were on the market.

  • @pardyhardly really ? i can't agree with you, because video games is not considered collection, therefore i don't think the atari would be sold just to hold on to it having better video game consoles with better video graphics on the market

  • @ijakeproductions 1. It's not the 5800, it's the 5200.

    2. It's the Atari 2600 Jr.

  • @animegamingdude its 5200...

  • @ijakeproductions What you have seen was the Atari 2600 Jr. It was introduced in the late 80's and was trying to survive against th Nintendo NES and such. This model was supposed to be a slimmer version, looking like the 5200. :-)

  • this is like something i would write in elementary school

  • THUMBS DOWN FOR ANYBODY BEGGING FOR A THUMBS UP.

  • The problem with this system was that at this time the 7800 was in stores, not only could it play all 2600 games, but 7800 ones as well. The 7800 was also only 30 bucks more, so who would actually pluck down money for this?

  • Rap

    oh yeah,atari 2600 rlz (?)

  • The fun is back! Oh yes sir-eeeee!

  • Kid put away that joystick when people are around!!!

  • wow, moja pierwsza konsola hehe

  • They should have bought a Colecovision. They must be poor.

  • Ha ha, I paid more than that for my Atari 2600 in 2005. It came with Combat, though!

  • I vaguely remember this commercial. I think this may have been from about 1986 or 1987 even.

  • @wibassplayer Yep I remember this commercial too. I especially remember "Space Invaders... to cars that roar."

  • it funny now consels would be called 50 and cost 2600

  • THE

    FUN

    IS

    BITCH!

  • its funny that they werent that creative names for games so they probably named the game @0:16 "Pinball" imagine

  • It's funny to see how actors playing the part of "father" in commercials make such massive cocksuckers of themselves. Well, that's still so these days, but a couple of decades ago, their grimaces were even more stupid, and no doubt here is a token for that...

  • thumbs up if urs still works :)
