wow. u cant even imagine how much i want to go there and this video is amazing. i know it'll be probably the hardest thing i do, i've heard stories but i still want it. hopefully class of '16. any pointers on things that would get me a leg up would be appreciated from cadets or grads????!!!!!!

The admissions board looks for people who really want to get in. If you don't get accepted at first, keep trying - there are a bunch of prep schools that will work wonders on your SAT / ACT scores and fitness. community involvement on the resume is always good (volunteer work), and participation in extracurricular activities is always a plus. thats awesome. what was the toughest part of the admissions process? I've heard it's very lengthy.

Well, nothing by itself was too tough, but when you're running around trying to get letters of rec from everyone, get your transcripts printed and mailed, interview for your nomination, get medical and eye exams and take your fitness test, it gets hairy. It's just a lot - so start chipping away early!

I'm guessing you applied for nomination from all 4 sources, does that mean 4 interviews?? would if make my application look better if i took both the ACT and SAT and scored high or would it remain the same if i just took one???

I only applied for presidential and congressional, but it can't hurt to try for the senators. I believe the only interview you'd need to have would be with the congressman. It'd probably be your best bet also. If you CAN score high on ACT and SAT it can't hurt to put them both up. If you end up not doing well on one of them, you don't have to submit it to the Academy.

@buckeyeforlife35 Be sure to be able to check in boxes like Honor Society, Student Government, 2+ speeches before an audience, JROTC, Civil Air Patrol, Newspaper/Yearbook, Athletic Team Captain, Scouts, but be sure to pick your favorite of these things and be great at it. Get Squad Com, Spaatz, Eagle Scout, be the star player who drive your team to the championships, etc. Find a work you love do it, and work hard at it, and work twice as hard on yourself as you do on your work. MaxCFA, 36 ACT.
