man i started playng SOTS only 1 week ago, jumped in a big galaxy with lot of enemies and initial setup similar to yours (ecepet i had 300 stars :p) and all i got at the star was almost NO technology, and you got so lucky you had a dozen usefull things....meh :p

Just remember this. You are one of the better LP'ers, you explain stuff well, skip over stuff that doesnt need to be explained, and explain in detail the stuff that needs to be known. Your voice is pretty smooth and you dont sound like an 11 year old of a 60 year old. And most of all you take it easy and tend not to overreact, you dont use too much cussing to put false emphasis on your words.

I like your LP's, probably around 3rd in my line of lpers I know, right under grimith and Jefmajor.

Oh and DF racks are awesome, they are like huge rocket batteries, akin to projectors but they use your best warhead available. When you use Fire control sections, and support them with sensor-equipped ships (you can use your command ship) they can dominate early game by overwhelming a destroyers few lasers, and even cruisers and it takes a hell of a lot of PD to counter them effectively. They are a good counter for someone with PD early on if you need a weapon for your medium mounts.

You need a better mike- I don't like saying that but your feedback actually hurts my ears a little, no ofense or anything but it would help a lot with your channel. Good vid quality though.

@dosFING Sorry I didn't notice this comment until now. I'm working on my microphone, working on it a lot. I've managed to improve it, but it's still just a 20-30 dollar headset and stuff. There are a few more things I could try if you really hate the audio quality.

Thanks for doing this Lets Play. I was wondering about the game. Its a few years old but thanks to you, now I am interested in it.  What do you think of the newer games like Star Ruler, and Distant Worlds? Or about the older games like Space Empires IV and V?

Any chance of you doing multiple games? With a random tech tree and the varying propulsion, I can see that being interesting. You could always come back to it sometime in the future if you don't want to do them in a row.

@TehBrawlGuy I'm definitely thinking about it. I'd probably do the Hivers since it's such a change of pace from the fast, and impermanent, humans. When the Hivers eventually reach a place, that place is theirs unless you can fight off their entire damn navy at once.
