The thing that make the tales series so unique is that they're games you can play over and over. take tales of Vesperia for example even after you end the game you can start it from the beginning with upgrades from the grade shop. Even after you end the game you find that there was still so much left to do, so it never got boring. The only reason I don't play it anymore is because Japan made an even better version of ToV that really pissed me off.
@benimo6 When you beat the game and save over it the option to start a new game with the completed data becomes available in the start screen. This is so if you left anything undone you can go back and take care of it without needing to defeat the final boss over and over again.
@benimo6 but yea there are more things that become available in the second play through and there are so many hidden things in ToV that playing it twice may not be enough. for example I haven't completed the collectors book (but i did finish the monster book) and that was my 10th play through.
@CamsEyeView this game can have up to four players at once. Although only the 1st player will control the character that explores the world but when the fighting starts anyone with a controller can play with one of the 4 characters you have in your party.

@EdwR1 Actually, Troy Baker, the English voice of Yuri, said at Sakuracon 2010 that he and cast have done additional voice acting for the PS3 version. Namco Bandai's just having some debt problems, so we're going to have to wait until those are settled before we hear any news of a localization. Those debt problems are probably why the US hasn't gotten Tales of Graces yet, too. So just keep your pants on and be patient.

I completely agree with how you said that boss in the middle of the forest was much harder than all the others. I set the difficulty to Easy and switched it back to Normal when I finished it.
The PS3 has a shitload more voice acting than the Xbox, plus more playable characters. The key scenes you were talking about are probably voiced in that version.
Its kind of a slap in the face to Xbox fans of the game but what are you going to do?

Yeah the whole voice acting being absent in certain key points of the game irritated me a bit too, heard they're gonna have full voice acting in the PS3 version probably due to the sheer size on Blu-ray
You mean Flynn? In the 360 version, he isn't playable except for one battle but his movements aren't as smooth as the main characters. But in the newest PS3 version, he is a fully playable character but unfortunately, so far the PS3 version is japanese only

That boss was in the game demo on xbox live. The idea was you played through a small part of the story and then fought that boss, but since the boss was literally impossible to beat the demo ended there. I think they forgot to change the difficulty on it for the real game. (I had to set it on easy to win)

I don't understand why people review trivial things. character acting? anyway:
1- battle is VERY clumsy
2- game's a bit boring
3- save spots = outdated and annoying
4- things like "cooking" or "skill mapping" are unnecessarily complex
4- if you like annoyingly cute RPGs this game is for you
5- if you like Fallout 3 or Oblivion E.S., this game might not be for you
6- Better RPGs out there, but if you've played them all then get this game.
I'm already 20 hours in and I'm bored of the game.

It's good to know that I'm not losing because I suck though. =) My last battle I decided to train a bunch more beforehand and I lasted much longer, so, I guess if I just keep at it I should be able to beat that darn monster. =)

Bwahaha! Yeah a lot of people feel that way about Karol in the first 11 hours (I know I did). But he grows on you :)
That boss was in the game demo on xbox live. The idea was you played through a small part of the story and then fought that boss, but since the boss was literally impossible to beat the demo ended there. I think they forgot to change the difficulty on it for the real game. (I had to set it on easy to win)
