My cat gets on a large stuffed fish toy and kneads it for ages. He loves it. While he's doing that he'll do little thrusting movements with his hips!! It's especially unnerving when he looks you deep in the eye while he's doing this. It's all so innocent though and kind of endearing.

my cat does the exact same thing. he'll knead, then hump (if I don't stop him in time), then lick! ugh! (he's been neutered since he was a baby). When I had another cat, he humped him too (all the time!). We later found out it was some dominating thing. He sure likes to hump. (kitties are disgusting) lol.

That's not humping, that's just "happy paws". Male and female cats do that when they feel comfortable in a space. It's a holdover from the instinctive actions that they used to get mom's milk flowing when they were kittens.

It means that Punkin's VERY happy. If you pet his head while he's doing that I bet he'll close his eyes and purr more loudly than you've ever heard him purr.

Lick his head and he'll be ecstatic. Just like mom used to do!

Just the same 2 minutes is quite a bit of time for a cat as old as mine. A couple of seconds of going at it and he's all tuckered out.

I'm pretty sure he is getting a bit insecure because of the kittens. I've been keeping some places, like my bed, off limits to the kittens so Mikey has his own space... hope it works.

I understand, keeping punkin (a possible star of youtube) modest is very important. He seems to have quite a bit of a fan base going. <3

The editing is probably one of my favorite things about your videos, when you said he already had the 'snip' and then cut to your crying out in pain I almost lost it. LOL! I know exactly what you mean and actually I thought that was what it was as well... for about a month.

however, it is a bit different than the usual lovable kneading... and after a lil' chat with my vet for their last checkup... she clarified a way to check so the next time he did it, his lil' bad habit was confirmed. O.o

It took me almost a month to actually realize what he was doing!!! LOL!!! I was shocked! He has actually gotten much better the past couple of months though. I think he got freaked out when I went to AU for school for 2 years. Now that I am not leaving he's chillin' a little more. But every once in awhile... like here... he slips into old habits. :p
