I saw Ian at Colby-Sawyer and it was amazing to hear live. Thank you for coming to our small college, you made my night a lot better with your amazing talent. :)
I have been playing 35 years... I am shocked at your rhythm and timing, the scales, and the inflection/accents are truly amazing.
You should never be compared to anyone.
You play just like "Ian"....
I have been amazed recently by the playing of Michael Hedges. Have you ever listened to his music. He plays acoustic instrumental music. Truly inspirational Ian!!!! Well Done.
I don't think he's the next Steve Vai. Mostly he does something I've never seen Vai do. It's spectacular. Vai has a lot more electric type stuff although does delve in this, it's not his main focus, as you can tell it is with Ian, so Ian brings this particular style to a whole new level. I'm really not trying to sound condescending... if I come off that way, sorry. I mean the most respect. I just think they're each better than each other in their own rights.
Enjoyed checking you out, Ian, and look forward to your performance at the Lick Observatory August 27.
