  • What about women's breasts?

  • is this even suppesed to be funyy?

  • @lollidove actually no...educational

  • I didn't think he was gonna make it!

  • Steve Carrell's first job must've been as Guy Smiley

  • Yeah, not many people know, Mitt Romney use to be a game show host

  • Grover sure thought outside the box with the two cows.

  • Love the hair....... lol!!

  • I knew a few kids that were scared of guy smiley...I use to mimic guy smiley and scare those kids (quite cruelly I may add), and use my hand to mimic his flappy mouth...ahh good times. I can still do a good guy smiley

  • @mooody12 Why would kids be scared of Guy Smiley?

  • @bluestingerborg He had a checkered past

  • Guy Smiley: GO!

    Grover: AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! lol

  • 2 COWS = MAJOR OWNAGE!!!!!

  • Why didn't grover just bring out 5 cows?

  • Guy Smiley is my Mothertrucker!

  • a good YTP: having the double dare obstacle course music play while grover tries to find the items...

  • @eric829 lol.

  • Guy Smiley lookz like he has Cerebral Palsy,Polio, and Turretts

  • ahh, classic sesame street, & muppets.. the originals can never be topped!

  • isn't grover supposed to be green?

  • @highestprofile green?? are you kidding?

  • @maziebunny2 i keep getting him confused with oscar.

  • @highestprofile no harm done. Grover is blue, sweet, and cuddly while Oscar is green, grouchy, and has a unibrow. hee hee.

  • LOL@2:32 where?? XD

  • He won a trip to someplace in Wisconsin. I couldn't make out where though.

  • @SchizoidMan100 Fond du Lac.

  • Comment removed

  • @SchizoidMan100 the heart of dairy country! haha!!

  • Guy Smiley RULES!!!

  • TWO COWS! XD

  • Did Jim Henson do the voice for Guy Smiley? He sounds a lot like Kermit.

  • @aceofspades281 Yes, Jim Henson does Guy Smiley (at least he did during the 1970's, when I watched the show).

  • I thought only male cows had horns. Just an observation.

  • cows have horns too I think... and male cows is called bulls...

  • class

  • i like the sesame street sketch !

  • what did he win though for getting the 5 things. he got gipped

  • he won something but i can't hear it

  • ice cream, cheese, butter, and two cows, lol, what a riot. classic skit!

  • I guess any female mammal would do

  • he is orange

  • Note that Guy didn't say that the five items all had to be non-redundant! Thus, good attention to detail (and cleverness) on the part of Grover with the two cows! Also note that, unlike the Cookie Monster version, the clock here has other numbers on it besides '0' (in fact it doesn't even have a '0'). Just an observation. Thanks for posting!

  • @d72jjpilc Actually, the clock does have a '0' - two of them! One's in the '30' and one's in the '60'!

  • Yogurt also contains milk in it and so do pancakes.

  • How about chocolate?

  • Grover could have gotten one of those instead of 2 cows.

  • From 1974.

  • can anyone tell my if im right or wrong.....grover is the voice of gonzo from the muppet show? and is cookie monster the voice of animal from the muppet show? the the ppl who made seseme street also make the muppet show...coz kirmet the frog is in both....srry fir asking i jus want to know????????

  • Yup, they're both Jim Henson creations. Ernie and Kermit are the same voice, as well as Fozzy and Miss Piggy (Frank Oz)

  • Most of the early characters were voiced and puppeteered by Jim Henson and Frank Oz, exclusively, but as time went on, they found and/or trained many other great pupeteers to join them in this show and others. I don't think they performed the "suit" muppets like Big Bird, Snufflupagus and Barkley, but most characters in SS are just those two geniouses. Telly and Elmo are examples of the "second generation" of muppeteers.

  • No, Grover is performed by Frank Oz who also performs Cookie Monster, Animal, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and Bert. Gonzo is performed by Dave Goelz who didn't become part of Jim Henson's muppet team until 1975 when the Muppet Show was developed. But, I guess Grover and Gonzo's voices do sound pretty similar.

  • Don't forget that Frank Oz did Yoda and Fungus from Monsters Inc.

    Multi-talented to be sure.

  • grover and cookie -frank oz

gonzo- dave goelz who is mr between on sesame street, ironic is grover tries real hard to speak correct grammar while cookie speaks almost cavemanish like me go get it

  • ....and two cows lmao funny!

  • This sketch is also seen on Old School Volume 2.

  • HEY, IT'S MITT ROMNEY!!

  • Fantastic video. Jim Henson and Frank Oz at thier best.

  • a trip to wisconsin. Lucky grover.

  • It was pretty nice to see Grover appear as a guest on "Beat the Time" with Guy Smiley, by doing some stunts.

  • Grover certainly found all 5 things that contain milk. They were: Ice Cream, Cheese, Butter, and 2 Cows (right on the buzzer). Grover certainly did a great job and won.

  • I lol'd

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL 2 Cows!

  • @southwestlondon

And hopefully, a whole lot of Sekirei.

  • @southwestlondon hahaha well they did say 5 things! lol

  • guy smileys fuckin nutts...

  • Jim Henson put a lot of energy into this character!

  • Jim Hensen was cool. Guy Smiley, Kermit the frog, the pie man!!!!

  • What pie man?

  • Lucky bovines - THEY'RE the ones who get to smooch the host!

  • From the very start, I saw the cows coming a mile away -- but I didn't expect two of them.

  • @piguy314159

    Neither did I!

  • I'm in university, and one of the girls in my economics class didn't know that that cheese contained milk.

  • Technically it doesn't "contain" milk, but rather, milk contains cheese!

Cheese and butter are derivatives of milk.

  • Gladdys and Lola?

  • Jim Henson and Frank Oz. Classic muppet performers. A classic clip.

  • LOL @ 1:16!

  • johnytbird, go to the Comedy Central Web site. Search the COLBERT REPORT under videos. Then click on "Primary Update: Stephen has a helpful suggestion for Rudy Giuliani's Florida Campaign." It's in there.

  • I got it! Thanks!

  • @jonnytbirdzback What does this have to do with Sesame Street. These random posts clutter up the legit posts.

  • Last night on "The Daily Show" John Stewart said Mitt Romney was celebrating his Michigan win. He then play a few seconds of this clip. I thought I was going to piss my pants laughing. I never made the connection before but it was a good one.

  • I know I was laughing my ass off when I saw that. I didnt make the connection either but John got it so right. LOL!

  • Do they have the clip of this on the Daily Show's website?

  • It was COLBERT REPORT not the Daily Show

  • I stand corrected. I watched them both and it was late. Thanks for clarifying.

  • @jonnytbirdzback Please make your O/T comments private.

  • he isn't as yellow, he's brown and tanned.

  • I'm pretty sure this sketch is in the sixth season premiere episode in the "Old School Volume 2" DVD set.

  • .....2 cows.....brilliant.

  • I think this is from 1971.

  • The production value is awesome. No wonder we loved this show! 34 and still a big fan.

  • Hey! Wheres Guy's Microphone?

  • He never needed one.

  • Except for "What's My Job" and "The letter of the Day Pageant."

  • It made sense that he would use on in the "Letter of the Day" pageant since he had to sing, but "What's My Job" didn't call for a mike at all. It was just like any other game show. Wonder why Guy decided to use one then.

  • I also noticed the theme song to the one with Grover is the same as the one with Cookie Monster. Anyone know who writes the theme songs for the game shows? Some of them are quite good.

  • Does anyone know why Guy ran out of one doorway and into another in the beginning? Did he make a mistake, or something? Also, where in Wisconsin did he say Grover was going?

  • Fond du Lac. It's nice that they made some Wisconsin (my state) reference in there.

  • I was also curious to ask this, but im glad you mentioned something of the first part of the entrance.

  • Yeah. I never saw that one.

  • You be surprise, neither do I. I found that out muppet wiki.

  • ok why in this segement is Guy so mean to Grover, ok its like he has a thing against Grover or something.

  • I don't follow you. How exactly was Guy being mean to Grover?

  • look at his facial expression when he says go! his eyebrows are in a down position of anger or mad.

  • Guy does that quite a lot. Check out "The Eating Game" when he says "here is how we play the game". He's just the sort of guy to do that. Besides people often put on that expression without even realizing it. I assure you, Guy is not mad at Grover.

  • yeah i saw the eating game but man Jim Henson sure uses the facial expressions in his muppets.

  • finally the one with grover is shown, thank you

  • i think the two headed monster did an episode of beat the time also

  • I know what you're talking about. Except it wasn't Beat The Time, even though it should have been. I have it tapped in Spanish where they had to find two things on The How Many Game.

  • can u please upload that

  • yay ive been looking for this one

  • Whoa! 2 cows! Just in time!

  • Hey t-bird . . . it doesn't matter to this huge coffee drinker whether Cookie Monster or Grover played this game first. Whoever did, both skits taste 5,000 times better than a blueberry / marshmallow sundae at Friendly's !

  • Yay! Thank you so much. We need one more is Homer Honker.

  • Actually, Muppet Wiki has changed that. Apparently, that wasn't Beat the Time after all. It was another version of Name That Sound. Homer Honker is unable to tell Guy what is making the sounds he hears so he brings them into the studio. Can anyone upload that? And let's bring back the one with Grover too.

  • Ooooh! Okay. Man, I didn't know they have another episode of Name That Sound.

  • Neither did I, but apparently it's on a "Play With Me, Sesame" DVD.
