Well, I very much appreciate the comments given on "Ravensong" I read a comment that he had much reason, not be sad melody mean that it is Gothic, as such I never can put a label of genre on my project. It went always something experimental music. There are strong feelings behind the songs. Nostalgic and hope. This isn't a cello, it's a synthesizer. Also, it's not gothic, just neoromantic. The only music that is "gothic" is certain subgenres of Metal, Rock, Industrial, and EBM. Since this is none of the above, it cannot be gothic music. Please label your videos more conscientiously.

I cannot agree with you...at all. This is composed of both the cello and the piano mostly. They threw in a few choral affects, but this is definitely not synthesized the way you think it is. Another very important thing I must correct you about is that this IS Goth. What you are suggesting is the Gothic Subculture that began to branch off in the late 70's and early 80's. That surrounded more of a Punk/Metal genre of music and fashion and grew as time continued up till today.

@TGS300 Sorry, but the cello line is synthesized. I have no idea about the piano line, because you can make a synthesized piano line sound exactly the same as a normal piano line with enough work; it could be synthesized just as easily as not. However, even if the piano part is actually on a piano, the rest of the parts are synthesized. INCLUDING THE CELLO PART, as anyone who has actually played a cello can tell you.

Additionally, just because music is sad doesn't make it Goth.

The cello is not synthesized. All the instruments are indeed mixed if that's what you mean, because when going through a recording, the final process is to mix all the instruments in a certain way that makes it sound better. And trust me, I know quite enough about the cello to tell you that it is not coming straight from a synthesizer. Besides having played the cello, one of my band members is the cello player for our band. I play piano and drums as well.

And nobody ever said anything about it being Goth because it is just "sad" music. The tone and emotion of it does contribute to the Gothic style quite a bit, but just like I mentioned before, you are referring to the subcultural Goth style music, which is completely different than this. It is still considered to be Gothic, just not in the way you are thinking.
