I'm not sure about the basis for your prediction except hope. I think Alves could win one fight out of 10 or 20 against GSP, but Thiago has to get back in line with Fitch, Penn Hughes, Koscheck and anyone else who lost and wants another shot at the belt. At this level of stage, It is very rare to see someone as confident as Thiago is. The more I listen to what he says, the more I'm convinced that he'll be the next champ.

While I think Thiago has a serious chance to beat GSP, the French Canadian's super human physical capability is hard to ignore. Like Jardine said, GSP has muscle to handle LHW guys without a problem and it's a huge advantage in the later rounds after they both have lost finishing power.
