Widnes management only have themselves to blame. No way wwere Superleague going to give a three year franchise to a club financially unstable enough to go into adminstration. If the fionances being sound I think they would have got the nod over Salford. My best mate played for Widnes last year and was one of the better players there but had to move to Wakefield because management broke all their promises.

im a saints fan, but am gutted for you that you didnt get the license. I understand the reason behind the Crusaders getting in as in order for rugby league to become a nationally known sport it has to expand outside the M62. However Salford getting a license is a wrong one in my opinion. Was there a few years ago and there was more saints fans than reds fans there in that shithole, and when they were in super league averaged around the 5000 mark.

widnes were kicked out for the french, and i hope they're not excluded this time around for the welsh. its not now or never for them and if samuels says it is then that's a threat to the RFL. celtic need to build in NL 1 first let them prove that if there is a thirst for rugby league in the area they will turn up in numbers NOW and not when they are admitted to the top flight

widnes kids need super league heroes, i had top class heroes when i was a kid and every1 wanted 2 play for the club....too many players are now playing out of the town, if the RFL keep them in the nationals then it will only shrink the player talent in widnes, it will never die but it will be effected. there's lots of talk about expansion into wales and i'd love to see that. expansions about growing the game not killing off it's strengths, adding teams to its already strong core is whats needed,
