@fishersurfbum No they live in Lake Michigan then in the fall return to the river they were born to spawn then die and the babies make there way to Lake Michigan to grow and repeat the cycle.

thats the best method(or my favourite i ahve caught 2 this year both in early spawn. 34 inches and 41 inches)

method 2: small mepps spinners or flash small spinning bait, salmon often bite out of aggression. piss the off enough and they will attack. i landed one on a mepps last year(had 3 on)you could also fish whent hey stage in the harbors and river mouths with red devil spoons and rapala double jointed j-11 lures

these methods work for me. good luck spool with lots of line!!!!

Salman when in the rivers will not feed! they will only bite out of agression and to protect their eggs.

(these are not the only two methods, jsut the two that i use. dont say im stupid if i dont say one u dont use)

method 1: float with a 1-2ft leader with a small hook(red) and a roe bag. let it flaot down the current pass salmon.t hey will mvoea great distance to charge a suspended offering. they will only bite a roe bag to better the chances of survival of their own roe.

First they need to be running up the river. << They like cold water.. So when the water starts to get cold they start running. Then you should use proper bait, roe, or worms on a harness work apparently. Would like to see this demonstrated.

I've always heard that Copper River Salmon were the best in the world (Bristol Bay a close second), but always thought it was just marketing hype until I tasted a Columbia River Salmon... It tasted like MUD to me. Since then, it ocured to me that there really is a difference, and would really like to see if that is true for Atlantic Salmon too.

Beautiful fish right there, my brother and I used to walk miles upon miles of Grand Rapids creeks before spawn season to clear debris. We'd then set a route and make our way back, grabbing the fish as we walked through the waters. Might be illegal but I doubt it being Native American.
