  • I woulda used the deck gun for shits.

  • Pull the feckin' preconnect and get that fire out. Snoozin'...

  • Lol where did that bang come from at 1:49??

  • tire

  • It could possibly be from a tire exploding or rupturing

  • fuck that surviving chevy

  • I guess the Chevy dealer that was going to receive this shipment realized that they weren't going to sell the cars anytime soon, and found a easier way out ;)

  • lol at 4:41 that guy just appears out of no wear.

  • That is brutal! A three man Engine company no hydrants and back up that is along ways away by the look of it.

  • fucking wounded

  • poor peterbilt and goodbye SUV.

  • cool ! less SUV and Cheap GM cars on the road .

  • Why did it take so long for the fire dept to show up?

  • They were having lunch.

  • took about 3 minutes, that's a relatively short response, actually.

  • It was several minutes. A good 12 to 15. I've edited the video.

  • Oh, I see.

  • that was sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • NO THEY AREN'T!!!

  • @JBurk2322 That goes to show how stupid as hell jeepin1021 is.

  • ummmm.... wont it be much better to drive the cars off the car transporter... less insurance money involved.. the car keys shld be with the driver???

  • I wondered that while I taped this. But the driver disappeared.

  • @VX2100D are either of you gonna climb in the burning cars

  • @VX2100DV Yea, i was telling my self, at least back the last two tucks off.

  • the driver seeing the fire probally got scared and reported the fire most people dont react in the best way possible whan this happends

  • @brianAS79 Life Safety > Cars, Vertical fire have many many dangers that most people don't think about, pressurized shocks and struts that turn into missiles and can will and have gone trough fire truck doors, as well as firefighters legs just to name 1, let insurance and firefighter due what they are paid and trained to do and get to what you think is a safe distances and multiply that by 3 to 5.

  • FOR SALE: Brand New Chevy Avalanche, 0 Miles, Grayish Black in Colour, Priced to clear! Don't miss this HOT Deal!

  • @judgegixxer Cars are so safe.. lol

Actually i wonder what triggered the car to catch fire.

  • @Dorisequador Whoa my 2 year old comment rated high! lol The brakes on the tractor trailer started the fire.

  • @judgegixxer Ya dude it was pretty funny hahaha .. wow man terrible fire glad nobody got hurt .

  • to bad those were all brand new vehicles

  • Good vid. That trucker needs to check his brakes more often on his new rig so this won't happen again!

  • It's not that he didn't check his brakes as you think this happens when drivers "fan" their brakes, and that causes friction and the act of brakeing repeatedly causes sparks and as soon as those tires catch you are screwed because it is nearly impossible to put of burning rubber after it is that far advanced, my speling may suck but please don't criticize me thank you

  • your spelling sucks haha

  • well then fuck you

  • It could have been worse, if the tanks of the cars standing upon the frailers were full...

  • trucks do this about 5 times a year coming down the hill from vegas to laughlin...

  • this was a 2 line fire

  • I agree.

  • Wow. Crispy. Good kill by the fire brigade tho.

  • The things shooting out are rods from underneath the car. I have been at large car fires and it sounds like a gun shot and a rod comes flying out we were lucky no one was behind the car when the rod blew it could have pierced right through hi leg.

  • someone get the marshmallows and weiners

  • oh yeah..it's true...this guy had a small engine fire and i,as the good samaritan ran over and poured windsheild fluid on it...then he had a big engine fire!then the firemen came and i sheepishly slipped away....oh and by the way never throw water on a greasy chicken fire on the bbq..thats a bad idea too,but i don't even want to talk about that one...lol....have a safe day!

  • the reason the fire grew when u threw washer fluid on it was because washer fluid has METHANOL in it!! Windex's ingredients are non-flammable.

  • fire is hot. NO THE

  • smokin'...i once tried to put out a car fire with washer fluid...bad idea.washer fluid is alcohol...who knew?

  • see, the semi didn't cause the fire, it was the chevy that it was hauling, leaking gas from the factory.

  • 2:03 the bottomrow first car gastank catches fire, contrary to exploding like on TV

  • FIREFIGHTER357 dont know what your on about mate i live in the UK and when someone calls about a fire they are there straightaway and i have seen many a car etc on fire before and the fire brigade attented immediately the only problem is your too LAZY and you dont wanna admit it??? leave off the doughnuts and pictures of naked woman and actually do some work. besides this great job done by the fire brigade, dunno what department ya'll from!!!! also keep up the good work fella

  • Comment removed

  • it needed a clean it twas a bit dirty hahahahahahaha good video fella

  • I( assume these must be junk cars for the driver to decide to have a brake fire?

  • Nope. Brand new. Destination Alaska. They didn't make it.

  • oh shit!!! thats like ten cars

  • Fuck trucks!! Glad Im out!

  • How does that happen?

  • I was thinking that too

  • too much pressure on hand line -no scba -no back up line in place-need better training

  • Reminds me of those carfax commercials.

  • owned!

  • that could have been one of the airbags popping i think or the tires.

  • they parked too close

  • "that's hot"

  • Only one guy on the line? To the guy that backed up the first guy for a monute, where is your SCBA? Nice going guys, glad I am not a member of your department. Also, when we role up on scene to a fire, the only person who is not packed up is the driver. take this as a lesson.

  • ditto

  • @BOWDOIN30 not to discredit your knowledge but we dont know or see if its a single alarm call or not... n SOP for a "truck fire" might only be a single line...how many crew members? who knows, driver, crew chief, line and hydrant... there's ur 4 man team

  • @BOWDOIN30 how many crew members? who knows, driver, crew chief, line and hydrant... there's ur 4 man team

  • @BOWDOIN30 another reason why we should not tolerate City Councils cutting firemen to save money! My town has only 2 guys to an engine an 3 to a ladder! 6 Engines of a city of 115,000 people!

  • @BOWDOIN30 The nozzleman has a pack on and one fireman should be able to properly use an1 3/4 by himself if its not an interior attack, although the back up member should have a pack on but was smart in not staying there

  • They got a car wash with no charge

  • ill buy the second one on the top for 5 bucks

  • OMG LOOK AT IT MELTING!

  • Cool Video.... Nice fire equipment also...

  • The two "pops" that happened right after he started spraying water on it was the car batteries bursting.

  • I would tend to believe something pressurized, like the A/C or perhaps a tire.

  • could be water reacting with magnesium. or tires popping.

  • hey you know what, you don't know shit about firefighting. if they send a single unit thats all, what did you want them to send the whole fuckin department? tap to a hydrant and that unit could fully contain the fire. that fire was nothin. also it takes us a while to get the scene asshole. Its not like were sittin in the rig ready to go at the drop of a pin. Mach es dir selber

  • Someones gonna be in trouble for ruining all those new cars...

  • There ya go - all new SUV's >.<

  • GREAT VIDEO!

  • Thank you.

  • What were those popping sounds, tires?

  • Yes. And a few valve stem "missiles".

  • Until now, I didn't notice it. I can see it. I would say Jack O Latern. Thank you for spotting that! :)

  • I'm surprised there wasn't a ladder truck there to assist, but a regular ladder? Great job either way!!

  • ohhhhhh the great cars....*

  • lucky those diesel tanks on the truck didn't pop....tat would have been bad

  • mmmmmmmmmmm we havent medium rare chevys tonight

  • HAHAH more like WELL DONE chevys!

  • LMAO, the car was BBQ-ed indeed.

  • Correction, it was a pickup.

  • on the ground, there is a pool of fire

  • What's pathetic is when taxpayers decide to close fire stations then bitch about slow response times. And lets face it , cutting manpower is no problem. Except when you're the guy who has to search the floor above the fire with just your partner.

Good thing it was a few vehicles instead of you trapped in a burning building huh?

  • Finally some one that is smart! Thank you. We need more people like you.

  • The politicians close stations probably so they can spend the taxpayer's money on themselves.

  • or to give it to lazy asses on welfare.

  • Great video.

  • Thank you.

  • the fire dept i work for and the city we do mutial aid with only turn out one engine for a reported car fire.and our protocol alows us up to 6 min. to respond to a fire, from dispatch to arrival. these guys could have caught a hydrant on the way in though that was a little more than an average car fire.

  • lol that was funny...BURN BABY BURN!!!

  • That was cool

  • heard a whistling, so somethings gonna p--- oh wait, the tire exploded, along with many other things. Since it was car b que, did it smell like "new car"? lol. good show.

  • If your directing the "work with the fire department" to me, the answer is no I don't. I'm a newsphotographer. I didn't have to chase this story. It came to me. I too was surprised with the slow response and one truck. I called 911 with several others reporting several vehicles and the semi on fire.

  • Was the truck ok??? the sleeper seemed to hold up good. and how did the fire get so big so quick!!? I put my brake fire out with an extinguisher.

  • The truck didn't survive. The interior was gutted. Several people did try to put it out with extinguishers and I didn't bother getting the camera out at that time. Once the car directly over the axles began to burn, I knew this was going to be a good show and grabbed the camera

  • how long did it take for the cars to start to go up in flames? was it burning when he stopped the truck??

  • It took about five minutes for the first car to catch fire. When the truck finally stopped, the flames were about 16 inches above the wheels and cooking the underside of the first car.

  • It looked like the red SUV/van (whatever it is-not the one in the very rear, the second one in) might have survived with little to no damage; kind of hard to tell. Did it?

  • It was damaged too. The windsheild and side windows clouded and cracked, the front end badly burned along with the paint on the hood and front panels. These also buckled. There also appeared to be interior heat damage

  • You have pics at all?

  • No. I shoot video/film only. The Tahoe was the only vehicle to continue it's journey to Alaska.

  • i remember this. none of the cars survived...this is right outside the naval center and i was driving home from the army center and the fire was all out but the cars were totalled.

  • The last SUV did survive untouched. You missed the best part of the show.

  • Is there any info on why the brakes were so hot? I haven't lived in Tacoma for 10 years, but the last time I visited it looked like you couldn't come down from hilltop on 11th; and to have brakes heat up on flatland is odd..

  • I was told by others that this truck had sticking brake issues in the past. We heard the first inside tire blow out at 11th and Taylor as the truck made a left onto 11th. Smoke was visible from all rear wheels. The truck was having difficulty moving. Another inside tire blew out at 11th and Alexander. Flames were visible by then, and the rest is history.

  • The Tahoe at the very back (the grey one) looks untouched. Can't say the same for that Avalanche, though. GM will be pissed....

  • They really gotta come up with a better way of putting out large fires with foam.

The water hose is like charging Hell with a squirt gun.

  • One problem was hydrant access. One was on Port of Tacoma property inside the chain link fence. Access was denied for "security" reasons so several hundred feet of hose had to be laid to the nearest hydrant out side the Port property. This resulted in the foam and water in the engine's tank to run out quickly.

  • nice dude you were at the right place at the right time.

  • or he set it up! jk haha.

  • i had a brake fire one time on a Schneider truck..

  • How bad was the damage?

  • the Fire Fighter are very slow!!! in german is the fire in 20sek out!!

  • but when they get there they take their time because its already a total loss so they cant save the car anyway

  • Brandstiftung!!!

  • Wow fire department took a while :P considering its on 38th street

  • It was a good 15 minutes from the time this started to the engines arrival. This took place at 11th Street East and Alexander Ave. There is a station a few blocks away on 11th. The home of Engine 15. But they were out assisting on another call.

  • quite a fire. u got there early. nice job!

  • Thank you. This was one of the very rare opportunities where the story came to me. Being in the right place at the right time! :)

  • Yes. We heard an inside tire blow out on the semi a block away. We could see the smoke. The driver continued another block and it appeared the truck was having difficulty moving. Another inside tire blew out and the fire really started to take off. Some may wonder why the driver keep the truck moving. I think it was to get away from some propane tanks, parked cars and nearby buildings to prevent damage or worse.

  • Standard procedure: When a tire catches fire on your truck, you drive on, slowly, normally that puts out the fire. If not, we've seen the result.

And also, try to find a safe spot to see the whol thingburn down if you can't do anything else.

  • Whoa, nasty fire. A brake overheat caused that?

  • Wow!
