If these cars are so valuable, and so desireable by collectors, why don't those of you who object to them being scrapped scour the countryside, buy them, obtain clear titles, ship them to your storage yard, evaluate each one for parts, stripping, restoration etc. and make your fortunes? You sit on the inventory for years, pay for restoration, preservation, etc. and then market the product, and hope you can find customers willing to pay whatever it takes to cover your costs.
Once these old classic are gone, they are gone. Destroying them should be stopped! Classic cars are a big part of american history. Stop replacing them with shit box hybrids.It hurts to see these old cars get shredded, melted, and turned into god know's what.

Why doesn't everyone put there money where their mouth is, go on E-bay and buy one of the hundreds of old cars in this condition under the salvage car listings for the $300-$1000 price range they are asking and you can part it out and make all the money you think these parts are worth?
These cars are worth a few bucks as scrap metal. Sell them intact for $100 a piece and you'd make more money. It's a waste. Even if 15 million model T's were made, that was almost 100 years ago. Many have gone to the scrapper, and that's all well and fine...when there are 15 million of them, but here's the thing, there aren't anymore, there's only a few thousand of these cars left and its a waste of money and history to scrap them. Most of these cars looked pretty far gone to restore...still, they would have made good parts cars. I didn't see anything that was particularly valuable, but there were a few Studebakers. At 00:15, that pickup looks like the rare early '60s Studebaker Champ.

so the oldsmobile wagon and the carmagia weren't worth much but i saw a late 50s buick that was worth thousands, i saw a 60 chevy that is super rare and near priceless, the mid 50s ford pick up with all the chrome is a gem... sometimes i wonder if people throw away gold bars because they clutter up the place...

whoever did this is a complete moron, even if you don't have a passion for old cars one would assume you could make more money selling them as restoration projects and/or parts cars than you would for scrapping them. just get them off your hands and out of your way into the possession of car guys who will treat them with the respect and care they deserve, there's plenty of cars there for a price of $500 to $800+ to turn some good cash, not to mention what vintage farm implements can bring.

half of me says these cars should have been put on ebay someone would have brought them and restored them. I love restorin old cars an gettin compliments at gas stations as i think yeah it is a nice car n i did that. This really pisses me off, but on the other hand i say let the dickhead crush em as he gonna get less money when he ways them in for scrap so its his loss for havin nothin but air fillin his head.

Most of these cars looked pretty far gone to restore...still, they would have made good parts cars. I didn't see anything that was particularly valuable, but there were a few Studebakers. At 00:15, that pickup looks like the rare early '60s Studebaker Champ.

If this was the 1970s it might be understandable because too many people were ignorant then, but surely people in the US have more sense now? Obviously not. What a disgraceful waste. Even the worst cars were good for some parts. Rather than being enraged at this video, as seems to be the intention, people should try and do anything possible to ensure this never happens again to salvageable classics.

That's very sad to see cars end like that, guess that some of them have could been saved. I think that yards owners don't even care about them. Of course collectors, hot rod and muscle car ladies and men don't like to see them crushed. I like US old muscle and classics. Of course we can't buy all the salvagable cars, but hey if you leave them rotting around, this won't help either. Keep your cars at home or built a barn or cover them in order to preserve what's worth to be preserved.
