his guitar sound is just perfect, without it he wouldn't be able to get such a great intensity in his improvisation! It has to be raw and messy

I saw this one live. Interesting thing, with Luc who always is above the rest, it seemed a little bit more even in front of Legrand. Then again once you've worked with all the best, you must be difficult to unsettle. Every time Luc does something, Legrand seems to say "right back at you".
