ugh, its a reflex, same with scratching a part of its back the back will slide to the right or left, a reflex. As much as people want to humanize or see dogs imitate humans, smiling is a very rare one. I'm not saying it can't be done, some dogs show teeth when happy, this is just a reflex, I can get my dog to do it too by scratching him
its obvious that dogs do smile! but its very uncommon tho. dalmatians are most likely known for smiling but i didnt know about other dogs tho, im not saying its impossible cause it cant be. haha. its so cute

My Shiba mix does this too- whenever we scratch our german sheperd/ shiba inu mix, she tilts her head allllll the way to the left and grins.
