  • someone knows that types of sheets it uses?

  • For the benefit of all: I offer this for your consideration;- Where Artistry is concerned, Certain effects required, say skin tone; or cloth tone-,fabric tone-,leather,-plastic,-chrome,-copper & so on, by the thousand,.can only be best achieved, with a variety of mediums..There is NO ONE ink,-paint -dye,or medium which can achieve all effects to perfection !! each has its place. So an intelligent ARTIST is at LIBERTY to use ALL the best tools-& mediums to get the BEST job done.!!.-UNDERSTOOD.?

  • this is such a teaser..whats the point???

  • There is no cheating. Illustration is a business. The object is for it to look the best and time is money so any way of getting it done the most efficient way while looking great is the best route. I suspect the company that hires him would much rather see a flawless piece of work than something with overspray and perspective issues. It is no different than a photographer adjusting his work in Photoshop

  • sexy biatch!

    nice job!

  • Sorayama created his own paintbrush from a Kabuki theatre make up brush. He barely uses airbrush other than to smooth out the brush strokes from the highlight and 1/4 tonal range areas. Since he hand paints this hyper real images with inventive concepts into each image, he is considered the masters of masters by his peers.

  • Sorayama is the Master og airbrush. I have some of his books, and al his art is simply amazing.

  • I own a sorayama - "See through pink dress"

His work is amazing - especially when you have the full sized piece!

I will be buying more and soon.

Keep up the fabulous work Hajime :)

  • There's many untouchable realists out there, but Sorayama still has the raw skill, talent, technique, AND MOST OF ALL...HE'S GOT ARGUABLY THE BEST SPEED OF ANY REALIST.

At the level he is now, If he were to spend an entire week on just a single rendering / painting?...Mannnn!!!

He's got the artistic talent to attract the realist-market, and he's got the speed & technique to keep up with the demand of that market!

Unless you're a better / faster artist yourself, you can't knock that.

  • This is a big deal to me. I had no idea he applied a paint brush before an airbrush.

  • Yes, actually Sorayama is famous because his art is by brush (not airbrush). Airbrush is used in 1/4 tones and hi lite areas to smooth out strokes.

  • You can't give a 100 stars ya psycho!! ;)

  • well said celshader

  • OK... I'm still waiting on the "secrets".

  • anyone knows, where I can buy a Sorayama's Sexy Robot replica ? I need one of them ^_^.

  • Good answer. lol A novice doesn't understand that techniques are used to create effects. Nothing is done entirely "freehand". That's impossible. Another analogy would be an automechanic rebuilding an engine without useing a wrench.

  • I dare you to do the same thing and obtain those results cageboyes

  • The only cheating is breaking copyright or trademark law. Eveything else is technique.

  • Then obviously you're pretty stupid since you didn't realize this is just a promo for the full-length training DVD with Sorayama, where his secrets to his work and masterpiece are revealed.

  • LMFAO... ahahhahhaa
