  • looks like your tv is gay

  • it just happened to my tv. all i did was restart it. fixed

  • not even pink can make harper look innofensive.

  • i have the same problem, but my screen is pink and blue :(

  • i would keep it that way looks cool :P

  • I have a refurbished 1 month old 46 inch Toshiba. It works great on the video inputs but all HDMI ports turn the screen pink. I don't think it's the sat/receiver because I don't have any cable/satellite whatsoever. I watch all my shows via my computer. I bought a 20 dollar hdmi cable and 10 dollar mini display port to hdmi adapter to hook up to my mac book pro and Iget the pink screen only on my tv and not on mycomputer.I've tried different adapters.Last step is changing out the hdmi cable.

  • if it goes away when you unplug the HDMI cable, and stays away for few days, its the HDMI ports in your Sat Reciever, not the TV.To Verify this, try using a set of composite cables instead,Red/White/Yellow,this should confirm that its the HDMI port on the Sat Reciever(PVR)

  • i have a same problem in my sony bravia. wat should i do?

  • Well only time ours did it and does it is with the PVR, doesn,t matter which HDMI Port, or which of 5 diff cables i have purchased.Only way to fix it is unplug HDMI and re-insert, all will be good for another few weeks usually. Also the Audio drops out from time to time, turn TV off, back on, its fine.Def crappy HDMI Ports, hopefully a firmware Update for TV will help somewhere down the line.

  • Don't be so quick to go out and buy a Panasonic, my 50" plasma is doing the same pink screen thing, in addition the audio is screwy and it cycles on and off. There are too many different brands doing the same thing and I feel it's a HDMI / cable company problem rather than a tv problem.

  • I have a 2 year old Toshiba 42 inch that does the same thing and will rotate between red, gree, blue magenta and yellow. It seems to be a loose connection on one of the solder points on the T-CON board area. Look up how to fix an X-Box 360 ring of death and the same fix generally applies to the t-con board of tvs with this issue. A simple heat gun and release at just the right time with proper cool down should melt the cheap solder connections back together again.

  • @Lavinco Hmm, interesting but i'm not gonna attempt that till warranties gone, lol.

  • @gutterboy2ca good idea to use your warranty first. One other thing that can cause this to happen is the actual cable that plugs into the bottom of the timing connection (t-con) board. Simply rubbing the male terminals with an eraser will sometimes loosen the filthy clear sheath off of the connection points.

  • I am having this flickering down the middle of the screen on mine. I am 2 months out of warranty now and I am completely screwed! Sony will not do anything about this issue and I cannot afford to pay to get this fixed or buy another TV now. I really feel your pain. I just got another sony in my living room about a month ago so I expect it to go the same way. My previous TV was a Sony and it lasted 23 years no problems. I will never buy Sony again I am done with them. Forever. Good luck to you.

  • I had the same issue plus no audio. It is the satellite receiver. I called Bell Canada and they got me to perform a test called "front panel reset". when your tv is on, hold down the power button until green light goes out (if after 10 seconds it doesn't go out just let go). The tv will reboot itself and hopefully update your system.

  • I have a 14 month old Samsung LCD HDTV and have the EXACT same problem. However, it does not go away if I shut the tv off. I disconnected the HDMI cable and tried another cable and the pink screen with NO AUDIO remained the same. It is not my tv as I can still use my flashdrive connected to the USB port in my tv and watch movies. According to the posts here, it is happening with different brands of HDTVs, so is it the Satellite receiver?

  • the prob still persists to this day, but seems more rare as time goes on.Bell Expressvue told me afterwords that its not the TV,but there PVR unit, they.ve known for quite awhile about the prob and told me they are working on a software update to fix it.Thats been almost a year ago, still nothing.I still feel its the HDMI outputs personally, when it does it now, we just unplug HDMI , plug back in, and its good for couple months.Guess i'll just live with it.

  • REPLACE YOUR HDMI CABLE. We have a 2+ yr. old 52" Sony Bravia LCD tv. We have Comcast. Our tv 'was' turning pink sometimes 2-3 times within min or maybe 1 time a week. There was no rhyme or reason. If we shut the tv or the DVR box off & turned it back on again, it would clear up. I overheard a cust. telling a Best Buy empl. that his tv pic was turning green & the guy suggested a new HDMI cable. He suggested the same for us. We did that & it has been fine. I pd about $80 for the good brand.

  • did you try replacing the cable , i notice how quick you were to condemn the tv..excuse me ,two different tvs

  • sorry guys, forgot to follow up on this situation, Heres what we found out. After getting the secon replacement unit from Homezone, i happen to be talking to Bell one day about my HD Pkg, told them about my TV prob with sony, the lady admitted to me, its not a sony prob, its our Bell Sat Unit doing it, they knew of the prob all along, and sent out a replacement unit. For the record,it also did same thing, and still does to this day occasionaly,it is the HDMI input for sure

  • I have this problem with a vizio tv. We turned it on one day and screen is pink. We are one month past our two year warrantee. Vizio tech help was useless and costco refused to take back. Vizio repair wants $400 with on 90 day on the work. Not sure what to do.

  • I replaced my Sony rear projection tv that has never (9 yrs) given me a problem. I bought an LCD to catchup with the Jones'. Now, I have the same problem with my new 40" Sony. It happens about 1 out of 4 times when turning on. So its the motherboard? Im calling Sony in the morning! Errrgh.

  • We just bought our Bravia 40", and the same thing started happening just one week after we bought it. But with ours, the pink screen won't go away. It only happens with the HDMI input; we can watch with the Video 2 input just fine. Did you get your issue resolved?

  • livingproof1973,i was reading those too, thinking to myself, what on earth would a person choose for a model that doesn,t have probs.BTW Homezone called me today, telling me to bring my set to the store tomorrow for a replacement unit(same Model) we'll see.

  • I have some issues with my XBR5 - going on a year and half with Sony - backlight issue/bleeding. Check the same forum you posted in and look for XBR5 clouding issue post

  • Sony contacted me today finally, offering a replacement model KDL-52VL150,i accepted before researching to find it had as many or more probs then the original,i'm not interested in accepting that,my confidence in Sony Products has gone down the toilet unless they correct this ASAP.Will keep Updated.

  • Anyone else having this issue? This TV is Brand New,about every 2 days i turn it on,this is what i get.Sony Repairman came by looked at it,said he's never seen it before, just wondering how many others have same problem. Was told its HDMI Port related,He says Needs New Motherboard, seems Sony's Quality is gone to Crap" not what it used to be.2 Weeks still no word from Sony, Bout to send it back and go by a Panasonic.
