I am at exactly the same place that you are describing so I can't give you ANY advice. Still working through the same stuff. I personally think I may have set my goal too low based on the bmi chart. I actually am pretty happy where I am at and am having a really hard time mustering up the mojo to keep pushing toward a goal that may not even be right for me. I am 154 and my goal was 130. I have decided to focus on five pounds at a time and then re-evaluate how I look and feel.
I'm too in the same spot... I'm 160 and want to be around 145 to 150 and its so hard to get back on track. I've lost the motivation and don't know how to get that back. I'm start making videos again and I think that kept me in the game. I think its alot of us going through the same thing. If you figure it out please let me know. I just don't know how to get that motivation back... Good luck and I think we'll get there... Julia
it is GREAT to hear you say: I HAVE DONE WELL FOR MYSELF!....you have! remember my philosophy is -it is ALL ABOUT THE PROCESS....find a fresh perspective on your process-go into maintenance mentality for a bit..see how that fits comfortably....look at it as a season in the "scenic overlook" pull off on the road trip of WLS- GOAL important? depends on the person...for some it is a new mtn to climb rather than a finish line, look for a new direction that peaks your interest- as you enjoy the view
I think you asked some great questions. I've been resistant to make some changes in order to meet my goal and had to ask myself the same question. What's stopping me? ME! As we embark on a new journey and roles change, we have to re-evaluate and find a balance with our revolving liestyle. I love this video! Thanks for your honesty and keepin' it real.
@rainsh01 You nailed it! I am stopped me too! I "know" darn well I can put the fight in there to get to goal but instead I am just walking along the post-op wls road casually. :-/ I gotta get this brain back in gear and acheive my dang goal! lol Thanks for your continued support as I dont know where I would be without you guys!! ((hugs))
I know where you are coming from on this video, but I mean 115lbs?! Shut the front door! That is a person! You have achieved so very much and this is something you should tell yourself every day. Goals are general ideas but hon if you are happy with how you look stop focusing on the number and focus instead on how you feel inside. I think you have finally accepted yourself inside and out and have realized maybe you are comfortable now.
@InkedPinup1 LOL Isn't funny how we throw out a number like the size of a person like its no big deal! My 17 year daughter weighs like 120-125 so I have almost lost her in weight... I have come a long way. I do feel good and I like that but in the back of my head I have questions of, can I feel better/great? I guess there is only 1 way to find out! Thanks for your support! ((hugs))
i truly understand this video 1000% . i am waiting for the pendulum is swing back the other way. I am currently at goal but want to lose another 10 to 20 lbs. I know it will come. I will get there. I think it is great to feel comfortable. with your clothing on, and with your clothing off. You are running marathons, which is great, i say let the motivation come when it comes, you are in shape, when it comes again you will know it and will push through this way of thinking.
@NorthernSutherner Thanks for making me smile! Sometimes pressure can be paralyzing! I am so happy for you and your success, you have done so well! Keep shining NorthernSutherner! :) ((hugs))
I think it is important to you, or you wouldn't have made this video. Otherwise you would have just made a video and claim "GOAL". You know you want it. Now Take it ! Now is the time. Losing that 115 lbs was hard, this will be easy. JUST DO IT ! Hugs, Robin
@texasmom2011 Nice way to word that cause you are right, it is important to me... Not sure why I didnt realize that. I have met soooo many challenges along this journey and done things I never imagined possible yet this one is still lingering out there in lala-land. I just need to "DO IT" and bust through this barrier! :) ((hugs)) Thanks for sharing your words with me! It means a lot!
Wow! Great Video Jess! How bad do you really want it. Is it even important to be that number anymore? I think you look fantastic! And 5'11, You are so tall! But I believe that the comments below are holding true. What it is you want you will achieve, if it is meant or deteremined in your mind to get there you will. I have seen many peeps lately increase from there goal weight due to there body's and minds were just finished. Here for you with whatever decision you make! IF YOU WANT IT>>>>TAKE IT
@candj1977 Thats the million dollar question... How bad do I want it? Obvioulsy not too bad from my results lol But based on the fact that this is weighing on my heart mind and soul, I think its pretty important. Maybe this was just part of the journey of the mental game that comes along for the ride. ((hugs))
you said it, "maybe i just don't want to do the work to get there". that is it! at least in my humble opinion. i have had the chance to watch several peeps within 10 - 40 lbs of goal do the work. it AIN'T easy. is is those last 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 35, 40 lbs that define your journey and set the tone of maintenance. Reaching that GOAL is so worth it! The sense of success and accomplishment can not be matched. NOTHING feels as good as that goal weight - NOTHING! what next? getting there!
@bandedwendy Yeah, I was afraid that was the answer but honestly I know its true. I am real good at maintaining but its not where I want to be. Sometimes you just have to hear yourself say your thoughts to get it to ring true in your head. I know what I need to do, now I need to plan (this is VERY hard for me) and make this a reality cause I know I can. I am a fighter and go after what I want, I need to go after this like I NEED IT rather than pissing around. Get it done style!
So many things come to my mind. First~~Your happy! Newly married, looking and feeling great, that makes us content! Second, Just like when someone needs to stop smoking...They have to really want to stop. Do you really want to lose more wt? Third..If I were you I would kick up my exercise(running) behave myself with foods and see what happens. Create exercise goals, redirect your focus and energy!
@lapband23 Thank you for your words of wisdom and advice! I know its a matter of getting my mind up to speed on whatever it is that I want to do cause I know I can. The mental game continues lol
Have you considered that this is the weight you are supposed to be? What is the reasoning behind the 150 lb number? Once you reavh your goal, you will be on a differemt journey, so yes, things would change
@ChewTheRightThing Well that is another topic for debate... My 155 lbs came from the BMI chart as that weight will put me dead center on the normal/healthy weight range for my height with a BMI of 21.6...
I moved my goal up by 10 pounds because I was happy with where I am. And didn't want any more loose skin then I already have. As long as your happy with where you are and are healthy then you ARE at goal!
Wow..... It felt like I just heard my story from Someone else!!!! My husband and I Did extreme exercise for 6 months ( P90X) But my body hit a plateau as well. Then we Found The Body by vi 90 day challenge and it changed our lives! we have lost a total combine weight of 150lbs!!! Your journey has been amazing Why quit there Fine something and Someone to Hold you accountable and GET BACK AT IT GIRL. Look into the Challenge as well like i said It was Life changing for us!!!! YOU GOT THIS~
@CharityEndres Thanks for your words of encouragement, sometimes that makes the world of difference at any given point in one person's journey! :) P.S. Congrats on your success, that is awesome!
I am totally there with you, Jes. I'm interested to hearing the responses that you get from this. I hope you get a lot and people start making videos for you. I'm just kinda chillin'. I see goal out in the distance but I don't know HOW BAD I want it. I've been here for about 6 months...up down up down up down. =/ I don't know how to get the "fire" back....the "want" the "desire" the "I CAN!" I am motivated for a little while and it fizzles out so quickly.
@losingitwithrebecca Becca, I know we have "it" in us to get to that goal we have set... I guess we just have to figure out if we really want to get there... I am sitting on these feelings and owning them for a little bit to see what the outcome is from within myself... stay tuned! ((hugs))
