I think you've played enough Rainbow Six, and, you can't. To the video, try blowing out a small hole in the wall (around the level of the scope while crouching, and about 1 and a half of your waist, and snipe using that. The only thing that will get you is a tank round or grenade laucher, IF they can find you...

To me every FPS that has something to do with the military is required to have prone. It makes no sense why they would take it out because it's "Unfair" and "It would be too hard to spot the snipers" That's bull. For a video game aiming for realism, taking out prone seems like shooting one self in the temples. Oh, and don't even get me started on parachutes.
